Yeah, they will definitely be playing with a chip on their shoulder. Pitino has a lot to work with.

They beat no one in non-conference play. That must be what the committee punished them for. Otherwise I would agree, I thought they'd be a 4. I would have had them above Arkansas and Kansas.

Can’t say I’ve watched VCU at all this season but I feel like we should be able to overwhelm them with Veesaar. Wish we could have drawn Gonzaga as our 3 seed. Huge break to get placed in Greenville.
If I was an Illinois fan I'd be extremely pissed about potentially playing UNC in Greenville.

Well who knows. Sort of felt to me like a bit of a downward trend to end the season. All they can do is go in and give it their best effort. If they make it to the second weekend, that would be a massive achievement. I wouldn’t be shocked to see them lose in round one. I’ll just cheer them on to win as long as they last.

I would think they are punished because the Big East is really bad

Same here. The last two games they've played don't give me much confidence that they'll go very far in the tourney, and it wouldn't surprise me if they lose their first game. I just hope they play harder and smarter than they did against dook and Clemson, or it's going to be a very short ride in the tourney. But I'll root like hell for them as long as they last.

Yep. It looked like we were trending up, then injuries hit and we held our own under the circumstances. Then we learned we weren’t getting Caleb back and everything went downhill.

My son is a senior at VCU, and we live in Richmond and go to 5-6 home games a year, so they’re my #2 team.

Good guards…their best player (Hill) is actually their 6th man. Play a 9 man rotation and no one plays 30 mins per game. Solid squad…I’d expect UNC to win a close one, but it’ll be a fight, and VCU could pull the upset.

Downward trend clearly influenced by injuries.
