Again the media is searching for stories to make it seem as though the fall elections are going to be competitive. so we get headlines like, "turns messy for Democrats."

Michigan's Senate seat is not in play. Mike Rogers ran in 24 and lost in a great environment for him. His opponent was not an incumbent. It was an open seat.
He isn't going to win in a national environment that is at least 8-10 points worse.

MAGA Republicans are insane, Democrats generally are not. As a loyal Democrat I agree with this but hasten to add that it is critical that Democrats select its nominees carefully, being particularly discerning in its selection of their 2028 presidential nominee.

Repeating the Biden mistake would only serve to revive the MAGA movement and hamper future prospects for progress. Simply capitalizing on the disaster of Trump to gain power is a dead end for a party without a cause.

Now is the time for change within the party.
