Don Jr getting the Pub nomination would be even better than Carlson. It would be an electoral blowout like nobody's ever seen before.
I agree. Whatever we have said about Trump on this board, he does have one thing going for him. He has charisma (so did Hitler). Don Jr. has none. There’s no way he could rally the troops like his father can.

Tucker effectively launched his campaign with a two hour NYT interview that hit this morning.

This is not a lark. He’s a serious candidate who will get a ton of support from Republicans who are sick of Trump.

From Tucker interview —

“That's my opinion. Okay. I wish I hadn't done the Fuentes interview because...

Really?

Yeah, it was totally not worth it. I mean, it was like kind of interesting, I guess, but it was used as, I added to the distraction.

What I really wanted to talk about was where we were going in this war with Iran. And I spent like a month getting calls from people being like, you're a Nazi. And I wish I hadn't done that.

Not that it didn't imperil my soul. I've interviewed far worse people than Nick Fuentes, like Mike Huckabee, the far worse person than Nick Fuentes, hurt many more people than Nick Fuentes. Same with Ted Cruz.

But so I don't think it affected me. I interview people I disagree with all the time. And often I'm polite to them, including war criminals.

The only person I've really been impolite with is Ted Cruz, because I have limited self-control and he's just so repulsive. I couldn't control myself.

And I was a jerk, and I tried to apologize.
But if you had to sit across from Ted Cruz, it's just there's something about him that's just like repulsive. I mean[…]”

I had an epiphany over the weekend related to voting in Presidential elections....

For the last 3 elections, I voted for the Libertarian candidate because I couldn't stomach the R or D candidates and I don't believe in voting out of fear, so I'm not going to vote for a crappy Kamala/Biden because I'm scared of a crappier Trump. However, I've acknowledge that I was wrong about Trump II. I thought he'd be similar to Trump I which, while often embarrassing, wasn't going to do any significant harm to the country or world.

Trump II has been awful and worth voting against.

But this isn't the first time this has happened and this is where I'm going to lose more than half the posters on this forum....

While my political views at the time didn't allow me to vote for Obama I, in hindsight, I can acknowledge that Obama I was a good president. I can't say the same for Obama II. It seems he wasn't kidding when he told Medvedev he'd have "more flexibility" in this second term. Obama II was divisive and damaging internally and damaging around the world.

My epiphany is that Presidents with nothing to run for behave like they have nothing to run for and, as such, second term presidential candidates should be voted against by default because the second term is where the are much more likely to do the damage.
You used an awful lot of words to say, “I’m a fucking moron.”

Fuck off, dickhead.

Tucker v. the GOP —

“Well, I know there's been a lot of treachery for sure. And I know they've been... They were so mad about JD getting that job.

They? Who's they?

Well, Mary Madeleine, for example. Rupert Murdoch. You know, people who were very much vested in using Trump for what we're seeing now.

But within the White House?

I don't... You know, I don't know the answer to that. I've never worked there.

So, like, if you don't work there, you can say what you think you know, but it's hard to really know.

This is me looking skeptical.

Yeah. Well, no, but it's me being honest. Like, I don't really know.

And you read all these things about, you know, Susie, you know, is of course a product of Florida, and there's a whole Florida group and the consultants and Marco and all the rest, and people whisper about that. Is that true? I really don't know.

I've never heard her say anything against JD. She seemed to love JD, but who knows, man? You know, who knows?

But I know. I definitely know that, like, outside, it's hard to believe that Mark Levin and Laura Loomer, who are, you know, like, have no constituency whatsoever and would have influence in the White House, but they do, and both of them have been out for Vance from day one, big time.

Do you think it's hurting, though, his political prospects, to repeat the question, that he has been put in the position, according to you, that he is fronting these negotiations in Iran?

Yeah, I mean, well, it's, I think this whole thing, it's not even JD specific. This whole thing is like dooming anyone connected to it for the foreseeable future, including the entire Republican Party. And, you know, if you're psyched for President Gavin Newsom, I guess that's a good thing.

I'm not. So I think it's a disaster. It's a true disaster.

And again, I told Trump this like 10 times, like this is going to blow up your legacy, all this gold you put in here, like they're going to take it down and mock you as they do. Like this is going to blow up your legacy. You're concerned about your legacy.”

Thank you for posting this interview. It is fascinating, and I encourage everyone to spend the time listening to it. The interviewer was excellent and the topics she covered gave me more insight into the mind of Tucker and his opinions of Trump, J.D. Vance, Bibi and the secular Israeli government, the Iran war, his take on economics and capitalism, ( similar to Bernie Sanders in some ways )immigration, and foreign policy.

Thank you (y)
