3i/Atlas interstellar object

Episode 7 Trombone GIF by The Simpsons

“…What MeerKAT specifically detected were lines of radio absorption by hydroxyl radicals, that is, OH molecules, a pattern that would be consistent with typical comet activity. The lines appear as absorption because 3I/Atlas was very close to the sun and the observing geometry favors absorption over emission. This is the phenomenon explained in WIRED a few days ago when the controversy about non-gravitational acceleration arose: When comets reach their closest point to the sun, they sublimate ice into space and receive a greater amount of radiation. This also causes them to alter their trajectory.

… Will the MeerKAT detection be enough to put an end to conspiracy theories about 3I/Atlas? Likely not, and at least the debates have heightened the general public's awareness of and interest in astrophysics. In the meantime, you can view the trajectory of comet 3I/Atlas here. And don't forget to mark December 19 on the calendar—that's when the interstellar guest will reach its closest point to Earth.“

Yeah, but have you looked into who funded that study? I not trusting any study funded by the comet industry! Do your own extra-solar object research, that's what I say! The truth is out there! Don't fall for the lies of the comet industry! Down with big comet!!!

Anna Paulina Luna is one of the best examples of the weird right-wing fringe of US reps who have "terminally online brain." She's basically just a walking Twitter feed that regurgitates whatever dumb stuff is trending with her followers (i.e. Russian bots).

Everytime I read about ET's visiting Earth, I also think about the level of technology needed for interstellar travel. I just don't see humans as being interesting enough to attract the attention of beings with that level of technology.
Could be tourism. Human (and other animals for that matter, maybe plants as well) could provide substrates for the aliens to inhabit for some period of time. I'm not suggesting anything as ominous as some sci-fi movies suggest, i.e., that the aliens completely take over and transform the hosts, but rather that they just ride along with the host for awhile in order to experience sight, sound, smell, touch, and also experience emotions as well as how the human mind works. It's possible certain people would be primo destinations or maybe it doesn't matter at all and any person is as good as the next for the aliens' tourism purposes...

Well, maybe so. But any alien got hooked up with me would be demanding his money back at the end of the ride.
