What a horrible accident. Hopefully there are survivors.

I can’t wait to find out more about who exactly was on that plane. Seems super coincidental for the first US commercial flight that has crashed in 16 years to crash right outside the DC airport a week after inauguration, no? I’m not saying it’s a conspiracy, but I’m sure there will be those who connect some loose dots and make it one. Especially if a US military helicopter was really involved.

From the video I saw, it also looked like the crash was entirely the helicopter’s fault. How the hell did the helicopter not see the plane? The helicopter also seemed to almost intentionally rise directly into the path of the plane as the plane was landing.

This further confirms my conviction to never get on a helicopter under any circumstances. They freak me out big time.
You’re not saying it’s a conspiracy; but, you sure are implying it is one.

I’m actually not saying it’s a conspiracy, just that it’s weird. You don’t think it looks sketchy what the helicopter did?

Clearly we all need to let the situation play out without going overboard on any specifics with speculation. If nothing else, out of respect for the victims. I have no idea what anyone’s motive would even be for foul play here. So I’m not going to concoct some detailed conspiracy about exactly what happened because I have no clue.

But I do know there are enough weird factors about this situation that it definitely is a bit of a red flag. I think it would be naive to dismiss this as a 100% likelihood of coincidence. That would be about as silly as totally dismissing the lab leak theory with COVID, which basically only superrific does now. :)

Terrible for the families.

On another note, wow. 16 years since the last commercial airline crash? I think when I was a kid it was like three every other year.

Yes they used to be more common. The last time I recall one going in the Potomac it was partially frozen over — terrible scene. Some brave souls dove into the water and managed to save a few people. 1981 or thereabouts, I think?

Than what are you saying?
That we should let it play out before we jump to any specific conclusions (same as with any tragedy), but that there are datapoints here that make this awfully strange.

I’m hardly the only one who thinks that helicopter’s flight path was completely bizarre. It’s all over the internet.

The question is what the hell was the pilot of the helicopter doing?

To expand on my previous post, clearly I have zero facts so I will let it play out. I have no idea what anyone’s motive would even be for foul play here. So I’m not going to concoct my own conspiracy about exactly what happened.

You admit you have zero facts, so you're only asking questions about it being "sketchy". What did the helicopter do that was sketchy? How many "weird factors" are there? Is it a bit of a red flag or false flag?

No, doofus.

This will be the last time I repeat/explain myself. I’m going to keep an open/questioning mind when something that seems super coincidental happens, like a commercial plane crashing for the first time in 16 years in the country and specifically crashes into a military helicopter that was leaving the US Pentagon.

This is a way more compelling story than just “plane slips off runway due to ice” or some other type of crash. The thing exploded in mid air after running into a military helicopter. That’s weird.

You’re a perfect example of your kind. And of why the future of the country is so fucked.

January 1982

It’s honestly a wonder something like this hasn’t happened at DCA specifically before this. That is some of the most congested airspace in the country, some of the shortest runways, the White House is directly north with restricted airspace that further constricts everything around Reagan, and the airspace is full of commercial flights, military flights, and VIP flights. Recipe for disaster.
