ALRIGHT. I'm too busy at the moment to relocate all the personal back and forth. I've asked and multiple posters have asked that the personal pissing matches be taken to another thread. We go through this with every disaster discussion, it seems. I've set up a blame & conspiracy theory and personal pissing matches thread here:

PLEASE TAKE THE PERSONAL BACK AND FORTH THERE. Including @superrific and @stankeylegjones

Oh, this makes less sense to me. I mean, I get it but it's weird. Fortunately, it doesn't matter what I think about it.
Runways are numbered in accordance with the magnetic heading they are oriented along, truncating the last digit. So when you are taking off or landing on runway 33, your compass will indicate a heading of 330 degrees, or north northwest. 0 degrees is north, 180 is south. You can land/takeoff in either direction, so if landing the opposite direction you would be landing on Runway 15 (330 degrees -180 degrees=150). Same strip of pavement but opposite landing direction.

The folks that really know what they are talking about are over here: JIA5342 CRJ700 midair collision with PAT25 Blackhawk at DCA - Page 11 - Airliners.net.
Consensus is helicopter pilot confirmed visual contact with the wrong airplane, possibly partly due to lack of explicit instruction from air traffic controller as to where to look in an incredibly busy airspace with ground lights in the mix.

Thanks for creating a new thread, but, I doubt I'll use it, as it's not worth going down into a never-ending hole with him. I'm sorry that you had to create it.

OK. I understand your sentiment and will try to comply. But if the nut jobs take their comments to a thread I'm never going to read, how will I know who to put on ignore and superignore?

Very cool info.

By the way, this was supposedly runway 33. Why are there 33 runways at that airport? There can't be that many, are there? I don't get the numbering.
Runways are numbered by degree of direction off True North I believe.

True class and leadership -- Trump makes a ridiculous claim and blames Obama, Biden and DEI as bodies are being pulled from the Potomic. He stated that DEI caused the FAA to hire only very low intelligence people and people with mental issues. His Defense Secretary, VP, and others saying the same stuff.

When pressed on what basis he has formed that conclusion, he responded with, common sense.
He went further to claim that he and his team will clean up all these problems left by Obama and Biden.
