If the oldest were flying, there would be no need to worry. If driving, then worrying might be justified.
My oldest, in college, traveled a good bit this past summer. Something like this is the part I tried very, very hard not to think about.

If I had the time and inclination, I could google a dozen similar events that you have never heard of. Planes crash all the time, and some time they crash in heavily populated areas and you have never heard about it.You can’t be serious. You really think a plane slamming into the ground at 280mph in one of the largest cities in America, resulting in a massive fireball and the destruction of half a neighborhood wouldn’t be newsworthy?
Lmao…
Damn DEI.If I had the time and inclination, I could google a dozen similar events that you have never heard of. Planes crash all the time, and some time they crash in heavily populated areas and you have never heard about it.
Statistically-speaking, I know you're right. But 2 trips to Europe and some domestic travel made me a little nervous. But fortunately I got the text that they arrived safely every time, so I was good.If the oldest were flying, there would be no need to worry. If driving, then worrying might be justified.
And I keep flight aware on an extra browser tab when my daughter flies, but the real worry is when she or a friend is driving. That is when all the bad stuff happens.Statistically-speaking, I know you're right. But 2 trips to Europe and some domestic travel made me a little nervous. They're actually a decent driver...and they only totaled 1 car in the process of getting there.

theres no afterlife heaven and hell.

He thinks those things happen all the time. Nope, they do not.

You are correct that the vast majority of the plane fatalities are prop planes, not jets. But I don't think the engine type is what made it newsworthy.Noted. Still, I can assure you that jets aren’t just regularly falling out of the sky matter-of-factly.
Philadelphia has one of the top children's hospital in the world, with some very unique specialties. My niece flew from SoCal to Philadelphia with her two-week old infant to repair a unique pancreas issue. Not to add to the conspiracies, however there is a rather questionable track record around this Med Jet / Jet Rescue company. Is it common for drug smugglers to steal tail numbers? Or might that company be lending out its tail numbers?
Really does have the whiff of some kind of front organization or at the very least a high level trafficking asset (in addition to being an air ambulance). I mean what is the logic in flying Mexican patients from Tijuana to Philadelphia for treatment? Would it really be so hard for them to find somewhere in California or Arizona?
This company just doesn't seem right to me.

Edit - next time a plane crashes in an urban area in SoCal, I’ll try to remember to bump this thread and point out that I was right.
He’s stated the original position clearly implied national news. I’m of the opinion both sides of this argument are a bit oddly dug in, but he’s not inconsistent with the prior comment. So you're going to post the NEWS articles written about the UNEWSWORTHY plane crashes? Interesting.
I am going to post the local news story about a crash YOU never heard of because 6-person plane crashes usually aren't a national news story. So you're going to post the NEWS articles written about the UNEWSWORTHY plane crashes? Interesting.
I don’t disagree with this, but I think this particular crash was more noteworthy for what happened when the plane hit the ground. A full load of jet fuel and the resulting bomb-like blast in a populated area of a major city differentiates this one from the random Cessna dropping on a subdivision in Glendora.I am going to post the local news story about a crash YOU never heard of because 6-person plane crashes usually aren't a national news story.
Edit -- I officially recant all my posts on this thread because I just read that 19 people on the ground were injured and one killed. That is a much bigger news story.I don’t disagree with this, but I think this particular crash was more noteworthy for what happened when the plane hit the ground. CHOP indeed pioneered radiologically guided partial pancreatectomy for newborns with intractable hypoglycemia.Philadelphia has one of the top children's hospital in the world, with some very unique specialties. Wouldn’t it be easy for a cartel or criminal organization to take photos of planes/jets and repaint their own aircraft? Not to add to the conspiracies, however there is a rather questionable track record around this Med Jet / Jet Rescue company.
