I’d also thought about creating a post where I highlight some of the advantages of the software they are using but it’s a tad time consuming.

oh, also I have opened a trial account with xenoforu so i can test things directly. I am just getting my feet wet with it. I may have some questions for you when I hit a wall. It made me really miss having admin powers on IC. They took them away when we moved from scout to 247 and then further restricted our mod powers as time went on.
 
I would say that someone should make me an admin on a message board so I can do things like this...but that's just be signing up for fixing all the things I'd inevitably break. :ROFLMAO:

I’ve seen that before and unfortunately, a number of things suggest that it didn’t have great functionality like it claims. A low number of downloads and the fact that it hasn’t been updated since 2023 despite XenForo having further updates since then meaning it may not even work.

XenForo is powerful but also a little delicate. One issue is that I don’t know if On3 gave you guys admin capabilities where you can toy around with adding customization or you have to run everything through them which seems like it would be a nightmare.

I really wish Ben would give me the keys to making the site better but I understand that doesn’t make a lot of sense.

In my opinion, if you guys want a legit follow feature you are going to have to pay someone to create it unless On3 employs XF developers.

I saw on the thread that Threadmarks was too clunky for you, but did you try the above one?


I would test it myself, but the demo doesn't seem to allow add ons. T

Tempted to buy a license and put it on my own server for testing, but haven't bitten the bullet yet.
 
anyway I found the clunky way to only see staff posts. Hit the search button, change everywhere to "this thread" then type in the user name in "By:"

I will respond to your above post when I get home because I honestly don’t remember. I’m sure there was some reason I didn’t use it.

One of the issues is, there are 100 different ways to get to the thing you guys are looking for but none of them are really good.

I think IC/On3 needs to bite the bullet and develop it. Or pay for someone to develop it.
