America's Reichstag fire???

people on the right yapping about escalating rhetoric on the left is unfuckingreal levels of gaslighting.

what a world.
The problem is that it very often works, which is why they keep doing it. Not just their base, but the entire news media/social media world starts talking about whatever they're yapping about and it just gives what they're saying life and then it just goes from there.

Alabama man referring to Los Angeles as 3rd world.

The city of Los Angeles GDP is 4x the statewide GDP of Alabama.
Many people in places like Alabama have always had stereotyped views of big cities as crime-ridden, corrupt places filled with dangerous immigrants and minorities where people don't practice "good American values" like they do, and just aren't as good Americans as people like themselves. Using the military/law enforcement and taking power away from these "filthy" places is second nature to them.

Yeah, because they're racist and bigoted rednecks.

Yeah, because they're racist and bigoted rednecks.
Well, yeah. And they've always been this way, although the ones with ambition usually leave for those supposedly corrupt, crime-ridden, un-American big cities as soon as they finish high school or college. Because they have no intention of remaining in places like Alabama.

Trump 2.0 as been the greatest use of EOs and Federal overreach ever.

Does Kristi Noem not know the internet doesn't forget?

Just the final evidence, in case anyone needed it, that the GOP really doesn't give a damn about states rights or local control - yet another issue (like balanced budgets) that they will claim at election time to care about, while they couldn't care less about those issues in private. And yes Noem is a hypocrite like most of them, but they know their base doesn't care if they're lying or not and will never follow up on it, so they just contradict themselves and lie all the time, and it never matters.

It didn’t seem like he posed any kind of threat. Was that level of force justified? It looks like yet another case of thugs with badges.
Mostly.

He didn’t deserve that. But most of the protesters last night were punks. Tonight they seem better.

The White House Marching Orders That Sparked the L.A. Migrant Crackdown

After deportations fell short of President Trump’s campaign promises, federal agents summoned to a meeting in Washington were told to ‘just go out there and arrest illegal aliens’

“Even with the high-profile arrests of suspects by masked immigration agents and the plane loads of migrants swiftly ferried out of the U.S., President Trump was falling short of the number of daily deportations carried out by the Biden administration in its final year.

So in late May, Stephen Miller, a top White House aide and the architect of the president’s immigration agenda, addressed a meeting at the headquarters of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE. The message was clear: The president, who promised to deport millionsof immigrants living in the country illegally, wasn’t pleased. The agency had better step it up.

Gang members and violent criminals, what Trump called the “worst of the worst,” weren’t the sole target of deportations.

Federal agents needed to “just go out there and arrest illegal aliens,” Miller told top ICE officials, who had come from across the U.S., according to people familiar with the meeting.

Agents didn’t need to develop target lists of immigrants suspected of being in the U.S. illegally, a longstanding practice, Miller said. Instead, he directed them to target Home Depot, where day laborers typically gather for hire, or 7-Eleven convenience stores.

Miller bet that he and a handful of agents could go out on the streets of Washington, D.C., and arrest 30 people right away. …”
