1. When I watch LPGA it's because I enjoy their choice of skirts.
2. IIRC, the girls BB rules you are referring to went something like, . . ., six player per side. Two restricted to the defensive end. Two restricted to the offensive end. And the final two, named "rovers" who were allowed in both halves of the court. Not a lot of fast breaks in that sort of set up. I think the "thinking" (if that not too much of an absurdity) was that too much physical exertion would either (a) impair the young ladies ability to bear children or (b) would make them "go gay."
“Going gay” might impair bearing children.

By "go gay", did they mean "drive to the basket with authority"? :)

One of these girls' teams at a nearby small high school dominated the sport in the 1940s. They won multiple state championships. When the rules changed, so did the fate of the program. I don't believe they ever advanced to a title again.

Back to Angel, she’s on a tear. Definitely making her case as a top 10 player.
She has played great the past 5 games, but top 10? Probably top 30. Remarkable rebounder. Leads the league. Never heard of a big leading in TOs as well but comfortable lead as well.

And the use of rovers was an innovation first introduced in 1962. Before that, there were three forwards and three guards and they weren't permitted to cross the center line

Right and people hate watching baseball because it is boring but yet recreationally there's baseball/softball leagues all across the country. Watching soccer is boring and yet it's the most popular sport in the world.

There's golf tournaments on TV and bowling. I doubt many people would watch ping pong but man those points can be crazy.

At the end of the day, competition is competition. Stop comparing women's basketball to men's. I stopped watching the PGA and watch the LPGA because I can relate to their choice of clubs.

Look at womens soccer. I see stories of how a women's team got beat by 15 yo boys team or something like that. And the question is why that is relevant. Why do people watch minor league baseball? It's inferior to major league baseball. Why watch college sports? Isn't the professional sports better? With star players? I guess Wake should just quit sports. No one watches them.

The hypocrisy is just unbelievable. Just think of this. Almost 40 years ago the girls in HS were playing with rules for like half court basketball. This while Jordan was sky walking. People expect instantaneous changes.
If you simply don't like watching a sport, it probably won't matter if it's women's or men's. I don't really watch baseball or softball. I also don't watch soccer because it's boring. Same with hockey.

There's a reason that college football and NFL football are both very popular - because they look the same to the person watching them. The offenses look generally the same. The defenses look generally the same. The athleticism and overall product looks generally the same, right?

The same is true for men's college basketball and the NBA.

The same is not true for the NBA vs WNBA. The products do not look the same. There is an obvious lack of speed and athleticism in a WNBA game. Women, even at the highest level of their sport, can't do things that high school boys can do.

That's why people don't, and likely never will, watch WNBA in large numbers.

It’s been at least 10 games of excellent play.
