Saw the Netflix doc last night. How he is alive is unexplainable IMO. I will say the guy has an incredible mind and insights, and seems to found some measure of peace. Lots of stuff I did not know but nothing shocked me more than the revelation he had sex with men while high. I don't care but had never heard that before. Anyone watch it?

Watched it a couple nights ago.

All I could think of was “Nepo baby.” Without the star power of his family name, he’d be serving a lengthy prison sentence—or he’d have died in a gutter long ago.

I thought it was common knowledge he screwed young Corey Haim.

Denied that rather vehemently m and I believe him mostly because he pretty much admitted everything. but I guess it could be fir legal reasons.
Yeah, I mean Haim’s closest friend (Feldman) accused Sheen of raping Haim, so I think deny, deny, deny is a necessity for Charlie.

There are two celebrities I was 100% convinced would have died at a very young age: Mike Tyson and Charlie Sheen. As it turns out, they may end up outliving me.

If Charlie Sheen pointed to a window and told me it was raining outside, then I'd check to make sure that what I was looking at actually was a window, not some big fancy Plasma Screen TV showing a broadcast of a rain storm.

I dunno. Sober 7 years. If he was lying about stuff he was doing to make himself look worse not better (except perhaps the child rape deal which could be for legal reasons). He seemed credible but he is an actor and recovering addict and lying I am sure comes easily.

Let me admit that I am not now, nor have I ever been a medical professional in any area, let alone susbstance abuse. But, even if true, which I doubt, "sober 7 years," means nothing other than -- good start, but don't celebrate, just stay focused on today. I am not now nor have I ever been an alcoholic. I can count on one hand the number of times I have gotten "drunk." My list of personal flaws is long and disgusting. It just by the Grace of God that alcohol and drugs are not on that list. But given the futility of me trying to understand alcoholism, my understanding of the issue is that how long an alcholic has been sober is a meaningless number, the only thing that matters is, "Can I avoid drinking between now and midnight?" And at midnight everything starts over, just like the first day he or she decided to stop drinking.

Interesting enough, that is the sentiment he expressed. He basically said 7 years, and something like "not bad," but said today was only day that mattered. I am not necessarily a Charlie Sheen fan, but I watched the documentary as I would a car wreck. i believe he found the whole deal cathartic. I dunno. I did find it entertaining to watch as he is quite funny in talking about how deep his dive was.

If the conversation has shifted to whether Charlie Sheen is both good and comfortable performing in front of a camera, then let me say I agree 100%. I have seen too many of his comedic and dramatic performances to have anything but extreme respect for his professionalism on set and his ability to portray complex dramatic and comedic charactors. But 7 years sober means nothing compared to whether he will be sober for the next 11 hours and 50 minuttes
