Anyone else having troubles opening Xitter links?

Every link I've been sent today goes to the "something went wrong Retry" screen.

I don't have Xitter but until today, I've always been able to at least click on a link to see the linked tweet.

This is a thought question...

If a group of reasonably advanced hackers decided that they wanted to take down a site like X on an intermittent but permanent basis, how hard would it be to do so on an on-going basis? Obviously X would be trying to stop you, but how hard would it be to just throw attack after attack at a site in order to take it down over and over again for fairly short periods of time but that would cumulatively have a significant impact?

I'm hardly a hacker or computer expert, but I would think with the right equipment and experience it would definitely be doable, although if Elon was willing to expend substantial resources to protect Twitter the hacker's efforts to disrupt it would grow more limited over time. For all of his presumed tech nerd knowledge I think hacking Elon probably isn't that hard, especially (and ironically) given that he gutted Twitter when he bought it and no doubt fired most of their more talented tech nerds who could have helped protect the system.

So, in other words, FUCK MUSK!

Depending on how they have breached the security. If they found an actual entry point, then most will work inside before disruption. They will copy databases or other information for future use. They will set up other ways to ever the system, etc.

This is why once someone is hit by ransomware they can't simply disconnect and restore from backups. The ransomware will wait before striking, so the code has probably been backed up also.

So, if they are in the system, they can be very destructive.

If this is external, like a denial of service, then it is harder to maintain and probably can't take down the application long term.

It's doable, but you have to exploit different weaknesses each time. AI capabilities are going to throw some interesting wrenches in the system.

I don't understand why anyone here (who isn't a maggat) uses Twitter. Every ounce of money and influence that Musk gains is used against us.

Delete your accounts. Don't give them a dime.
Just to be clear, as I mentioned in my original post, I don't have a twitter account, but am frequently sent links by friends [mostly sports related] and/or want to read the tweet linked by someone here.

I was sent 3 yesterday afternoon and was unable to open any of them. Hence my post/question.

Oh I know, that wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I just don't think that people who are opposed to maga should be engaging with any musk-products, yet many continue to do so.

His influence comes entirely from his bank account. I won't be contributing to that and I encourage others not to either. Twitter is not the only source of information in the world. Don't be a Der Angriff subscriber.
