Key driver of current political climate IMO
(including some people who hold diametrically opposing goals for politicians at the same time based on this chart).

So, around 30% of dem/lean dem and 17% of pub/lean pub prioritize BOTH (1) their side pushing hard for their agenda regardless of opposition from the other side AND (2) finding common ground with the other side.

No wonder the divorce rate is as high as it is in this country.

Or in a cult.
A board Trumper just chastised me recently for saying that Trump's brain was mush and that he was getting more senile by the day. He said that he was still mentally sharp because he took phone calls from reporters and seemed sharp in a 60 Minutes interview, which was edited by a Trump-friendly CBS News crew to leave out his embarrassing moments.

So yeah, definitely a cult.

Trump is declining in a different way than Biden did, but the decline is still obvious and troublesome.

Trump should sue CBS again for editing yet another interview.

Trump has always had major mental disorders. Paranoia, megalomania, sociopathy, etc. He’s just experiencing what most elderly people experience, where core personality and mental disorders become stronger and less hidden as the aging mind loses its ability to self regulate.

Agreed. Trump has most assuredly always had all of the traits you described and then some, but I agree that in his second term these traits are getting worse, and I do think he's getting more senile in that his rambling, periods of falling asleep during meetings and conferences, mental confusion, etc. have gotten worse and even more prominent and noticeable in his second term. And his energy level also seems visibly lower by a good deal.

Many of us who had grandparents or parents live to a comparable age know this is a very common pattern. Trump’s sociopathies are just far greater than almost any other person of his age, and millions of American idiots decided for some reason to make a mentally ill man the most powerful human in the world.

Trump’s brain never had the self regulating feature.

Which is why Independents (myself included) are the pluraility. We will determine the outcome of the next election cycles.
