I hate the idea that we value the opinions of celebrities so highly. It's not that they might not be well informed and have a valuable opinion. It's just a lot more likely that they have a disconnect from the public. The public acclaim and private isolation has to have some influence. So does the almost monomania and drive to succeed that it takes to reach celebrity status. Combine that with some of them being catered to since they were knee high and I just don't put generally as high a value on their opinion.

Otoh, this is politics and damned near a race to the bottom. Go with what works.

I'm not sure this will go the way that the Harris campaign hopes. I'm sure that Trump has many HOF'ers who would do the same for him (Tiger, Jack, Lawrence Taylor, etc.).

None of those guys are going to move the needle with young folks. Especially not young black men, who I suspect are the primary (though not only) target here.

I mean, most young people have no idea to whom you're referring to when you say "Jack."

Meanwhile, Trump has already been trotting out his athletes for years. Remember Herschel? It hasn't gone over too well for him, because the ones who support him are either a) old white dudes or b) guys with brain damage from football. His best bet would be Tom Brady, but Brady ain't endorsing him.

You’ve got 2 drug addict adulterers and one old, rich, white guy from Ohio on your list.
No surprises there.

Not familiar with Tiger’s political views, but he definitely does not seem like the type to be outspoken enough to give a Trump endorsement, even if he is a conservative. I would be genuinely surprised if that happened.
