Judge in Hunter Biden’s tax case blasts Joe Biden for ‘rewriting history’ with son’s pardon

(CNN)-The federal judge who oversaw Hunter Biden’s tax case blasted President Joe Biden for trying to “rewrite history” in his justification for pardoning his son.

District Judge Mark Scarsi wrote in a five-page order Tuesday that some of the “representations contained” in the president’s Sunday statement announcing the pardon “stand in tension with the case record.” Scarsi specifically took issue with Biden’s rationale that his son’s tax problems were all caused by his struggle with alcohol and drug addiction.

“The Constitution provides the President with broad authority to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States … but nowhere does the Constitution give the President the authority to rewrite history,” Scarsi wrote.

Joe is a human piece of shit. He has tried to use his son's death and crackhead hunter's drug addiction to gain sympathy for political gain over, and over, and over. And, for years he refused to publicly acknowledge hunter's illegitimate daughter was his granddaughter. Only when it became a political liability did he publicly acknowledge her.

Earlier this year, Scarsi rejected this exact argument from Hunter Biden, who wanted the indictment tossed on those grounds. (The judge in Hunter Biden’s gun case also rejected the selective-prosecution theory.)

Joe Biden’s announcement claimed “no reasonable person” could conclude this wasn’t a politically motivated prosecution. But Scarsi noted plenty of Justice Department officials, including the attorney general, oversaw the case — and therefore, “in the President’s estimation, this legion of federal civil servants … are unreasonable people.”

And I suppose you think Trump is a swell guy? Cheating on his wife with a playboy playmate and a porn star, then tried to cover it up with hush money (just a tiny fraction of his transgressions). Now TRUMP is what I would call a human piece of shit, not Biden.

I don't get the issue with this, he probably shouldn't have said he wasn't and then wind up doing it, but to me its just a non-issue. Republicans making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Literally your TDS go to. This has nothing to do with trump. Ask yourself why, like a robot you default to trump. I never mentioned trump nor tried to make a comparison. It’s just a reflex isn’t it? So infected that you can’t just argue the point based on Biden alone if you disagree.

stupid argument that the special counsel was illegally appointed. If that's true, Hunter's case should also be dismissed for the same reason

Actually the special prosecutor in the hunter case was an acting us attorney confirmed by the senate, a requirement. The special counsel in the trump case never was. All they had to do was put him underneath the Florida US attorney and he would have been fine, but the DOJ was trying to claim politically they had no authority over him, tho they certainly did.

So we know the IRS started investigating hunter when his name came up in a sex trafficking investigation. The laptop information in the hands of the FBI were not provided to these IRS investigators even tho it was well know to be underway.
He was charged with tax evasion. How would someone else have been treated given several years of charges were excluded due to delays in prosecution. Seems to me he was given an easy time of it.

Actually, you don't know what you're talking about. Hunter's lawyers were drawing directly from a Thomas concurrence about the appropriations clause. There is no daylight between the two cases when it comes to the illegal appointments. If you'd like to point me to the regulation or statute that you think applies in one case and not the other, I'd like to see it. If you're making the Article II argument, which is ultimately quite silly, then fine but putting Jack Smith under the direction of the US attorney would make no difference to a constitutional issue.

The real answer is that Cannon was wrong and egregiously so.

Hopefully, the Trump DOJ will get to the bottom of the Biden crime family, and put Joe Biden in jail where he belongs! Looking forward to it! And then it'll be the Trump crime family's turn at some point.

Fetterman says Trump should be pardoned of New York conviction​


Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said President-elect Trump deserves a pardon in a Thursday appearance on “The View” shortly after President Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden.

“I think that it’s undeniable that the case against Hunter Biden was really politically motivated but I also think it’s true that the trial in New York for Trump was political as well, too,” he told host Joy Behar.


“In both cases I think a pardon is appropriate and I really think collectively that America’s confidence in these types of institutions have been damaged by these kinds of cases, and we cannot allow these types of institutions to be weaponized against our political opponents,” he added.

 


If Biden pardons Trump targets, Trump wins by claiming see, I told you they were guilty all along. If Biden doesn’t pardon them, these folks may need a lot of financial support to fight.

I think they should fight because they did noting illegal or wrong. But how far and wide a net will Trump and Patel cast? For instance, I could see pardoning the cop who shot Ashli Babbit not because he is a murderer but because he has been a persistent MAGA target who probably doesn’t have the financial wherewithal to withstand a drumhead …
 
Biden should give blanket pardons to all civil servants, cabinet officers, Kamala Harris, all current White House staffers, all current diplomats, all journalists and all reporters with the exception of Hoax News and Newsmax "reporters" ,
