I watched. Muslims not mentioned. Nothing groundbreaking. But I think it was pretty easy to survive.

If ever there was a caricature of the “limousine liberal,” he’s the guy.

Smoke some expensive cigars and have a few belts of your 20 y/o scotch while you sit in your million-dollar man cave at home and tell the world more about how the far left just misunderstands things, Bill.

I've mentioned this before, but I never cared for the guy even when he was in his prime and was pretty popular among many liberals a good many years ago. Even then he just struck me as insufferably smug and self-satisfied, smirking his way through most shows at anyone who disagreed with him, even when I agreed with him on whatever political or religious topics he was discussing. It doesn't really surprise me that he has moved to the right as he's gotten older and has become more critical of liberals, like some other aging comics such as Jerry Seinfeld or Dennis Miller. If one ever doubts that white male privilege is a thing, just look at Maher and these other guys and you'll see that it's real.

I watched his show from last night. He had Josh Shapiro on in his first segment and then asked the panel (mulitmillionaire, like himself, Anthony Scaramucci and former Goldman Sachs CEO and current billionaire Lloyd Blankfein) how wealth could be more evenly distributed. I found it interesting, as I often do (sometimes I find it boring and occasionally insufferable, as others have corretly noted, but I didn't let those instances form my entire opinion of him)...
 
Maher is the best . Look forward to Real Time every week. No one is better in leading a panel discussion of political figures. Gets politicians out of their usual talking points. That’s why Kamala (among others) won’t go near his show.

What gets you out of your usual talking points? We have yet to find the magic elixir.
 
My impression is that Maher spends a good bit more time and is a good bit more more vocal and harsher in his criticism of the right in general and Trump in particular than he is of the left. I guess some people can't brook having one bad word said against them. Well, it takes all kinds I guess. I wonder if I'll be scorned for daring to suggest that Maher isn't a total shitbag for all the reasons I listed? I wonder if I care?

My impression has always been that I cant stand watching him long enough to know or care how balanced he might be. Maher's opinion seems to be that Maher has never once been wrong about anything.

Maher (unlike most lefties) enjoys speaking with conservatives and having them as guests on his show. So you’re 100% off base.
