The switching defense is killing them. Hubert's offense is too stagnant and doesn't give them a chance to get the best shot possible. He is getting totally out coached.

Dude, offense isn't the problem.
The problem is that SMU is 13-25 from 3 and it's really hard to win when the other team is cooking like that. They are on track to hit 100. What defense would you like them to play against guards that are quick and nailing jumpers?

The offense doesn't give them the best chance possible to win. Too stagnant. Too much standing around and having to go one on one for shots. It's been the same way with the half court offense ever since Hubert took over. Yes, they can win with it, but only if they are able to out talent the other team's defense. It does not give them the best chance to get the best shot possible.
Some days the other team gets hot.
In the NBA, no one blinks twice when a bad team beats a good team (especially at home) because shooting is highly variable and some days you are just going to lose. Even Michigan is going to run into a hot team one of these days.
But it is an in-game thread. During the game, anything that goes against UNC is because we suck and our coaches suck. It never has anything to do with the other team.
Dang, we are getting stuffed into a locker. You guys can chalk it up to UNC simply missing shots and the other team making them or whatever but it’s hard to find any positive takeaways from a drubbing like this. Just hope the team can flush it and regroup.

Are we supposed to be happy with Hubert’s roller coaster of a tenure? This is a UNC team ranked 12. That’s not good by UNC standards.

Pretty terrible game for UNC today on defense and Seth at the line.
But defense (or lack thereof) is the story. SMU has made it clear that we can’t keep up this kind of scoring pace. Veesaar just off all day. And credit SMU’s defense on Caleb. Lifeless effort for whatever reason from our two rocks.

A lot of guys from UNC hit some shots. Maybe Luka can get on track with his shooting. Maybe Jarin is going to stop being one of the worst three point shooters of all time.
We are getting stuffed because the other team has a guy who went 10-13, 3-5 from 3, and 10 assists against 2 TOs. And another guy went 7-10, 5-7 from 3. That's not just bad defense; that's the other team on fire.
