Biorhythms for Carolina @Virginia: Noon Start

Then you have people like me who know that dean smith would be incredulous that a UNC guy, former player, who averages 25 wins a year, who is a bad Back ankle from a natty, who got us Caleb Wilson, is now 16-4 with wins over Kansas Kentucky at at Virginia is under incessant fire - which could end up costing us no. 1 PG in HS. What would dean do? Not rhetorical.
No clue what Dean would do. I doubt he'd be thrilled with the results these past several years, but not certain.

Depends on how much his commitment changed.

When Dean Smith was appointed head coach at UNC in 1961, the primary, overriding condition set by university administration was to run a clean, ethical program and represent the university well, with less emphasis placed immediately on the sheer number of wins and losses

If we had social media then dean would not have survived IMO. Be nice if people would STFU and let season unfold..

You do not seriously believe dean smith would have supported firing Hubert?
As I said before, I don't know what Dean would do or support. I do think he would not be thrilled with a 18 - 35 record in Q1 games, nor being the 21st ranked team since HD took over, nor with what he's seen from HD as a head coach.

We can continue with these "what ifs" if you like, but it's probably not going to get us anywhere.

I tend to think that Dean Smith was fairly competitive, but maybe you're right.

Yep. It's crazy how some can't understand that one can be incredibly happy when UNC wins, while at the same time be concerned with HD at the helm.
Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive. It’s the way people wear their concern that opens them up to criticism or ridicule.

Plenty of people find more productive ways to show concern than, for instance, subjecting everyone to the little tantrums they throw on game threads. Especially the broken-record guys who are bringing absolutely nothing but bad energy.

All that aside I am genuine when I say I think Hubert is growing as a coach. First year he mostly sat in bench. Very animated now. We are much better on offense after timeouts. I think his player rotation for most part is good. We shoot 65 percent FTs on west coach we are 18-2. Struggle to blame Hubert for that. Team does not quit. Seems to be getting better as a recruiter. He is doing this with NIL and portal and really does not have the UNC brand advantage that dean and roy enjoyed.

I don’t recall reading anything close to what you are describing here. Which game threads are you referring to?

Hopefully he grows much more and quicker.

It sounds like you also agree that he would not be thrilled with the results under HD.
I don't know where you get that. It might be true that he wouldn't be thrilled but I'm a lot more confident that he wouldn't think it was time to replace him. Of course, he coached at a different time with different expectations and ,even more importantly, player relationships. There was more than one important player that was not terribly happy their first couple of years that ended staying and becoming great fans of Smith as upperclassmen. In this day and age, they'd have been out of here.

Actually I think we had 3 in first two minutes 1 the rest of game. We scored 52 pts on 31 possessions in second half with 1TO. Imagine if they had been well coached.
It is more than a little odd that we have had so many games with high TOs in first 10 minutes and low TOs the last 20.

That was a pattern in almost every game at the beginning of the year. It is almost like the team isn’t ready for the defenses from the get go and need 10 minutes of awkwardness to understand what the other team is doing.

Beg pardon. Not Holland, but Belgium. Flemish all the same in that neck of the woods.
And will add in regards to de Ridder: it’s not “Tess” as the play by play and color guy kept saying. It’s pronounced “Tice”.
Jesucristo, I wasn't able to sync up the radio with the tv and tried briefly to listen to the talking heads. Just can't do it. Corey whatshisname and random other guy were blathering idiots. I just couldn't do it. I tend not to...going on 10 years mainly muting.
