Biorhythms for Carolina @Virginia: Noon Start

Well if you are happy ought to act like it. Especially after one of our best wins in 4 seasons if not the best. I mean if the standard is that the substitution pattern early in first half is an issue when we rally from 16 down with 22 minutes left to win, my guess is the Hubert haters will never run out of things to whine about. I mean, we will lose again so be patient. WWDD.
Let's be honest, we didn't playing well for the first 19 minutes of the game. We were exceptional for the last 21 minutes.

So if someone was complaining in the first half about our performance (other than the last minute), that's completely understandable because we were playing pretty poorly.

If someone was still complaining about the first half substitution patterns after the game (of their own accord and not in response to another poster bringing it back up), I'd agree that's pretty crummy. But I can certainly understand why someone might complain about our first half performance in the first half when we were playing badly and getting out booties kicked.

He started the thread at 2:43. It was after we won and responding to nothing. So I guess we agree?

And that inconsistency, playing like shit for a half then playing as good as anyone for another half, has been a staple since day one for HD's teams. And that inconsistency is what drives a lot of fans nuts. We see how good the team can be, then they come out and play like they've not been prepped at all for a game. That inconsistency is something you'd think a coach would've figured out by now.

The 1982-83 team, which featured, among others, MJ, Sam Perkins and future top pick Brad Daugherty among others began season 0-2 and needed 3 OTs tobeat Tulane. Team was coached by dean smith. Sometimes teams play poorly. Enjoy the win.

I'm not sure the exact poster or post you're referencing.

But, yeah, if it's after that second half and win, that's a silly, silly take.

Update: I went and found the post/poster using the time stamp you provided. That's an odd thread and, while I think he was more asking a question than outright complaining, I agree that it was a nitpicky take that soon after the game. I was far too busy being excited about the win at that point to even worry about a few first half minutes for High.

Yes, Dean's teams had times when they played poorly, as did Roy. The difference is, Dean's teams and Roy's teams didn't consistently play inconsistently over the course of many seasons.

I did and am enjoying the win, just like all the other wins. What I want is to enjoy more wins. Not too much to ask, imo.

Personally, I'd like to win all the games so I can fully enjoy them all. :ROFLMAO:

Not to much to ask. Just win huh? And you are cool? Nice of ya..

needed 3 OTs to beat Tulane.
Not just 3OTs. But also needed a steal and a jumper from Jordan with 4 seconds left in regulation. One of my very favorite Carmichael memories.

That team, like the 94 team (with Stack, Sheed and almost all of the 93 champs), suffered from the post-champ blues. It is hard to motivate yourself after winning the championship the year before.

I will certainly cut Hubert some slack if his team plays inconsistently after his first two championship years.

No, I don't think it's too much to ask for a UNC basketball team to win more than they have been these past several seasons. Maybe I am spoiled.
Wanting more than 25 wins a season might suggest just that. Look. I get it. But times are different. Not just nil portal, but there are lots of good players. Let's see what Hubert does with this team. All the negativity does not help. See Dylan Mingo

If Mingo doesn't come to UNC it's not going to be because of this website. I completely disagree that it's a lot to ask a UNC basketball team to win 25+ games in this day and age. But hell, if HD could get his record in Q1 games above 40% I'd probably stop complaining so much.

Don't really want to diminish dean smith. In year 5:he was being hung in efficacy and he had no real resume. Hubert is 16-4 with ncaa runner-up and a acc title. So not that close.

Dean was hung in effigy in year 4, not year 5. He did end up finishing second in the ACC that year. That said, year 5 was also pretty mediocre by his standards. Year 6 is when he hit the gas and never looked back.

Thx for correction. Point stands. All these Hubert haters would have fired dean. Period. We had a great win today. Too bad it is upsetting to so many.

heel79, you are a smart guy. I know you know that one can be happy with the team winning, yet think HD is not ready for this position, yet. So, it really seems like you're just trolling right now.

Start Powell over Young next game. Only player in rotation that hasn’t been a starter

He is the 3P threat that Young is and gives you more size. It works next to two ball handlers Dixon/Trimble

Play Young/Evans off the bench as needed from there to fill in the 1/2
Agree with this.

2 turnovers on 2 of the first 3 possessions

And 2 turnovers in the final 18:30 of the game

Any fan site as big as IC is going to have an abundance of sunshine pumpers and serial complainers, both of which are equally annoying. I can see why some would be turned off by this but there are still a lot of great posters on there with a balanced viewpoint. For me I've made my feelings on HD clear and this game doesn't change my outlook, but I could never root against the Heels and am ecstatic fo
I don't get how people who are actively rooting and supporting the current players and coaches are equally annoying to those who incessantly whine, complain, and bash.

Maybe it's how you are wired as a human being but positive people > negative people 100% of the time in my book.
