Biorhythms for dook @UNC: 6:30 Start

I had the urge to go back and look at what many have called the greatest games of all times , the ACC Final in 74 between NC State and Maryland. just to remind myself how little contact there once was in the game. Oh, if some of the plays at the basket look strange, dunking wasn't allowed at the time.

"Athletic and Lionhearted are good words to describe Seth Trimble and Derek Dixon is serious and strong."

"Gamblers have dook by 5.5 – Biorhythms quite remarkably stack up similarly. So it is up to the Fates and the Fans. Home court has meaning but how much?"

3 points was homecourt advantage I believe someone said. The Dean Dome is apparently worth more.

Yep, home court in college basketball is ~3 points but it also depends on the team/game. Some teams have a better HCA than others.

I readily admit that I tend to calculate differently given the situation when working out the ritmos. Dean E. Smith Center is often worth more than 3 points as are a number of other venues.

Using 3 points means dook was an 8.5 favorite on a neutral court. A higher UNC HCA would mean dook would have been a bigger favorite on a neutral court. With that said, think they just got the -5.5 wrong. I did okay taking the ML 😀

I don’t usually participate in game threads - mainly because the utter commodification of college sports, locally represented in the grotesque hiring of Bill Belichick, and the diminution of UNC as an esteemed academic institution at the hands of a years-long political project have left me disillusioned with college sports and UNC, respectively.

I’m here to report though that last night’s plucky performance and scintillating finish, producing 2 court-storms and an old school Franklin Street barnstorm, has served as an effective Carolina Fever Reconceiver.

I deeply want Hubert Davis to achieve the results necessary to maintain the continuity of the Carolina Way. Some traditions are worth fighting for.
