The first game even played in the Dean Smith Center was against Duke in 1986. Since then then first UNC-Duke matchup of the season during years ending in an even number is in the Dean Dome. Since (and including) that game in 1986, the Heels are 2-2 vs. Duke in years ending with the number 6. (Heels are 3-1 in the game in Cameron those years.) Since the Dean Dome opened, the Heels are 9-12 in the first matchup of the season when it’s in the Dean Dome. (They are also 9-12 in Cameron during those years.) The longest losing streak for the Heels in those first games during those years was from 2000-2012. The longest win streak was 1990-1998.
