Biorhythms for @Kentucky: 9:30 Start

Greg put up a post on IC (UNC/UK vs Top-50 Opponents) breaking down how UNC has played vs top 50 teams this year, along with how UK has played. UNC leads them in all of the categories that Greg shared. Which isn't surprising, considering UK hasn't looked good at all in either game.
There are some reasons to be optimistic going into this game. I'd feel pretty good if it was at home and hopeful at a neutral site. I do think an environment like Rupp can really give a boost to UK though. I'm still hopeful, but will be a tough place to pull out a win. Very good win if UNC can pull it off.

I cut my internet teeth on the old CNN/Sports Illustrated boards in the mid/late 90's. In some ways my whole online persona was shaped on those boards. Back then it seemed a breech or volley to go to another team's board to sass, so of course that's exactly what we did. Unfortunately the sad detritus that slurried up on the Duke boards were mostly nerds (Tom Aris is a name I remember, he used the ";)" pre-emoji to end every post, fucking dork. So goddamn cheerful. Hard to really hate that kinda guy. But there was one Kentucky guy who could really sling the shit, me and him butted heads for years. Crow. We were actually aligned politically, which set him at odds with his UK brethren (it was almost lilke WWF wrestling, good guy one day, bad guy the next), but we argued vilely over the merits and history and greatness of Carolina vs. Kentucky. I of course always leaned on the Rupp national championships as 3 game tourny's with teams that a decent high school team could beat now, but yes, they count (and we got a couple of em ourselves, but not as many as UK). Crow still submits his March Madness bracket in a forum that some of us have managed to keep going over all these years (now mostly a ghost town), but the bottom line is, as far as internet and overall sass and bragging rights go, I hate UK just as much as I hate Duke. I hate their mostly Maga-ass fanbase and everything they stand for. I hope we beat the shit out of them tonight...

I completely agree. Also, UK is missing three key players. If UNC loses this game, given the missing players for UK and coming off of the MSU game, it's going to reignite the question of if HD is ready to lead the program. And, to be frank, I think it would be another sign that he's not yet ready.
While UK is missing three players we're missing Trimble and playing UK on their home court in front of what will be a very hostile crowd, so I don't think that a loss will indicate that Hubert isn't ready in reality, but I do agree that the perception and storyline will be if we lose that Hubert's seat just got a lot hotter and the pressure on him will go up a few more notches.
