Biorhythms for Ohio State: 3 pm Start in Atlanta

So it seems that Hubert’s preferred lineup when the game is on the line is Wilson, Veesaar, Trimble, Stevenson, and Dixon.
I don't have any issues with that. I think by the end of the year, that will probably be our best line up. Not sure if I'd totally commit to it now. We don't need to and I'm willing to give other players a chance to prove me wrong.

If Stevenson can hit 3 point shot consistently, we're going to be on an elite level. Thus far, he has not done so.

I really like this team. Hubert has his rear on the line. He has seemed to have done well with portal and recruiting. We'll see.

It’s hard for me to know for sure who is better between Caleb and Marvin. They both came into very different situations. Marvin came into a loaded team where he played fewer minutes than Caleb and didn’t need to to put up big numbers. Caleb came into a team that’s not nearly as talented as 2005 and was given the opportunity to be a the #1 option.
Caleb is MUCH longer, agile, athletic, quick off the bounce and 2nd bounce, explosive, and aggressive than Marvin Williams.

Marvin was the type of player who the NBA looked at in 2009 and thought, “If he develops……” Caleb is the guy the NBA looks at and says, “He’s the shit.”

So, you guys ain’t going to believe this.

Was driving to Florida today and, apparently CarPlay has a new feature that will throw the score for teams you’re following on the screen. I didn’t have to do anything, it just appeared. Pretty cool.

One massive problem (other than the fact that I spent too much time staring at the score and not enough time on the road) - it had the scores reversed the entire game. I thought OSU had the 11 point lead. I thought we fought back to take the lead and lost at the end of the game.

I’m just now discovering we won. It’s a Christmas miracle

I'm sorry, man, but that's hilarious.

Caleb is significantly better than Marvin Williams. No offense to Marvin.

Alas, I doubt this 2025 team has a JR season Raymond Felton.
I"m not sure Marvin was ever better than Caleb, including his NBA career. Marvin was always a little stiff. Caleb is super fluid, like He at 2 degrees K.

As much as Wilson’s offense is a joy to watch, his rebounding equally gratifying. He’s like a 7 foot radius, 10 foot high cylinder with a vacuum cleaner inside. Ball enters the cylinder and zip, he’s got it.

I just want to know what’s going on with both the Men’s and Women’s free throw shooting. It’s killing me.

I suspect our main problem is that Veesaar and Wilson will be shooting a large percentage of our free throws and neither are very good at it. They aren't coming out of the game because of it so we just have to hope they get better.

Not seen the women play.

Key word
We really need Caleb Wilson to be a star in the NBA - it's really hurt our recruiting that we haven't developed a great NBA player in a long time
Key word there is developed. Makes me ponder where players are actually being developed these days?

Quite a good number of those who are great in the NBA spend little more than 5 months on a college campus after all.

Yeah, developing players in college these days is often a euphemism for having the connections and financial means to assemble a package attractive enough to attract pro level players.

Who's the last player that actually greatly developed in Durham? They've had huge success in recruiting more than anything else.

Yes, free throw shooting is the reason yesterday's game ended so closely. Ohio state made 9 more than us, we missed 6, I believe. Made up for that with threes, as we double theirs with 8 makes. Still a bad percentage though.

We knew they were a team great at shooting the ball...they shot their 84% from the lin (were averaging 86%~). We dipped terribly on our own percentage (~74%) by some 20 percentage points. They were shooting over 50% and we held them to 40% from the field while being slightly lower at 44% than our average of ~46%. We still didn't come up to snuff from Three (shot 30% but average 33%).

Free Throws are going to make or break this team it would appear. Can't win many big games shooting 54% from the line.

I think Caleb Wilson is Kevin Garnett raised in a different era. More focus on jumper/face up game for Wilson, but they are very similar in their length/build/fluidity. Hope he can have a similar pro career.

Wilson has really struggled from the line the last 5 games or so, a bit weird since he started out the season so incredibly strong from the line.

We only went to the line 13 times. After all that hacking, clawing, bumping, grabbing, you'd think we would have shot FT more often. I know Seth should have had at least 2 more attempts after the foul that wasn't called - And let's not even talk about the grinder Caleb went through without getting a call. (Like he does every game). I'm not going to put too much credence on FT's in a game where we didn't even get to line like we should have.

That said, the Big 10 games are always like this. We lost badly to MSU in a similar wrestling match... but we showed some resilience in this Big 10 MMA game. We will face another one in the tournament. Mark it. And these "lessons" in how to deal with it are immeasurable IMHO.

Free throws? Umph! Let us get to the line according to the number of fouls mitigated against us (that being fouls that aren't called actually being called next time) and let the chips fall where they may. I'll bet we shoot closer to our year-long % of 74% when it really matters!

Caleb is a decent FT shooter. Had a 10/10 game this season

Henri though… far too good of a shooter to shoot FTs poorly

At least Seth is back because no one else is getting to the line
