Biorhythms for U of L @UNC: 7 pm Start

Can someone invent something that automatically stops the clock when the whistle blows and after a made shot the last minute?
Clock is supposed to immediately stop the instant the ball exits the net?

How many teams routinely take the ball out of the net the instant the ball exits the net aside from Roy Williams-coached teams?

On FTs: Seth missed two he should have made. Jarin missed two he should have made. That would have made things much more comfortable. Other than those two, I can’t expect anyone else to have made more than they did.

Of course it's better if they win, but still not happy with having a 16 point lead and letting it slip away because of missed free throws and rebounding, which are just basic aspects of the game.
Basketball is a game of runs. If you're playing a good team and go on a run to get up 16 you should expect that team to go on a run of its own.

There way more good to take from that game than saying at least they ended up winning.

That was a very big win.

Need a practice that’s nothing but free throws.
If our players had to make 25 straight FT’s to leave practice, we’d have the entire team napping on the practice floor.

Career College FT %
  • Hubert 81.9%
  • Lebo 83.9%
  • Paige 84.4%
Three of our coaches give lie to the idea that great shooters can coach shooting.

Free throw shooting is not easy to coach. Yes you can teach form, technique, approach, but coaching players to make them under game pressure is not so easy.

And spending time on it in practice doesn't really work either.

These guys can make free throws they just need to start making them and hopefully it clicks in.

Need look no further than Pat Sullivan.

That guy was instantly gripped heading to the FT line in tight spots. And, he shot 77.4% from the line.

Context matters, too

Up 7 with 8:04, Henri misses an and-1 FT.

Up 7 with 6:11 left, Seth goes 1-2 from the line

Up 9 with 4:42 left, Seth goes 1-2

Up 5 with 1:59, Seth is 2-2

Up 5 with 1:01, Jarin is 0-2

Up 3 with 0:12, Seth is 2-2

Up 2 with 0.00.08, Dixon is 1-2.

After struggling the whole game, starting 3-7 from the line, Seth was 4-4 in the last two minutes.

But as a team the Heels were only 7-12 in the last 8 minutes (and Jarin and Dixon were 1-4 in the last two minutes).

Seth has seems to have the yips on FTs ever since coming back from injury, but despite struggling most of the game, hit four straight big ones down the stretch. He was 7-7 the first two games, 60-90 since returning from injury. He was 82% last season but 66.67% as a sophomore. He seems to have reverted to that FT shooting since his return from injury.

Still, when push came to shove, he dug down and got those last four big ones tonight under game pressure.

This is why you can’t trust google’s AI feature. I googled worst free throw percentage in UNC basketball history and this is what it came up with:

Not only is the % for the 2013-14 season wrong, but look at the numbers it attributes to Raymond Felton. Those numbers are way off. Felton shot 69.3% from the free throw line in 2002-03, 81% in 2003-04, and 70.1% on 2004-05.

That’s really bad that some people rely on that. No, Ty Lawson, a career 78% free throw shooter, never shot that poorly from the free throw line.

Great win..Louisville is good. I had great seats near Roy. Our guys were getting after it on defense. Very impressed by the work Luka put in.on defense. Other than seth he is our best creator on offense among guards.
