Biorhythms for UNC @dook: 6:30 Start

I'm sure UNC players received benefits over the years but not in the systematic manner that dook and UK players did.
I have a friend that was in Mgt at a Textile plant in NC in the 70s The starters on NClol's Basketball team were on the payroll in the summer None ever stepped foot at the plant as far as he knew

Carolina had a HoF coach & a famous university and, in 2013, I'm not sure that dook had many more NBA players/FO folks than we did.
Dook had few NBA stars in 2013, and a lot more flameouts. They had Boozer and Irving. But also McRoberts, Singler, Shelden Williams, etc.

In 2013, Danny Green was almost finals MVP. Hans was a solid rotation player for a good team. Lawson was close to an all-star. Vince was still around. Sheed I think I had retired, but only recently. Same with 'Tawn. The UNC portfolio in the pros > Duke portfolio. I guess Battier was still around, as a role player of sorts.

From 1982 to 2005, I think, there was a UNC player involved in the NBA finals as player or coach every single season but two, IIRC. I did that calculation at some point. And in many years, multiples. That was still in active memory, especially given Danny Green's visibility.

It's changed considerably since then.

Not so coincidentally around the time the Rat started milking his being the Olympic coach.

I should put this in the other thread but I’m too lazy to find it.

From a post by Greg Barnes:

“UNC has only been ranked in the top 10 in an AP Poll published in December or later in one of the past five seasons: 2023-24.”

Perhaps fully healthy all year would have changed that.

Can't speak for other seasons, but for this season if we had Seth, Veesaar, and Caleb healthy for the entire season then I think we'd have at least one other win under our belt and would be playing like a Top 10 team by this point, even if we weren't ranked quite that high. Of course that's just an opinion, but there's no doubt that we've been snakebit by injuries for most of the season. It seems like every time we got everyone healthy that another key player would get hurt shortly afterwards.
