Same here! I'm with you. I would even go as far as to say that when juxtaposed specifically to how much I hate NC State, by comparison I *like* Duke. Tons of respect for them, in fact. I have absolutely, positively no respect whatsoever for NC State- just derision, disdain, and disgust.

I slightly prefer Duke but still pull for a massive sinkhole every time they play.

I have some 30 something state grads in my "extended family"
What gets me is how they detest UNC

I also have my share of family and family friends that are State fans/grads. I’m never the one that brings up college sports around them because they get so obnoxious about it, but they rarely pass up the opportunity to take a shot at me about UNC lol. It’s kinda fascinating how much they hate us. It goes beyond standard trash talking.

In regards to State versus dook - when they played in the Elite 8 a couple years ago I did want state to win because I figured they would have no shot at winning the national title - I did tell all my state friends that I was happy for them making the final 4 but I was so happy when Purdue whipped them
