I have a feeling this Achilles was a cover story for what he really wanted, which was a guaranteed contract. that's based on nothing at all except rumors floated here.

If you mean as an extension through next year? Otherwise, I totally miss your point. I'd take that as a win and be happy. Having a big man of his quality coming back would suit me just fine.

I would assume, if he were negotiating a contract for next year, he'd wait until after the pre-draft process as it would give him more leverage against UNC.

It would be a one-way option. I don't know, that's what someone reported earlier -- that he wasn't going to play until he was given a guarantee for next year. As I said, I was just speculating based on rumors, with no basis.

I will just drop the point, to the extent that there ever was one.

It's a dumb theory. Kid did not use playing/not playing as leverage to get new contract. I find it totally believable that he said if I blow Achilles I want money fur next year.

I should've put a wink emoji there. I was having fun with the comments on the previous page. I was not okay with High's reaction until I saw the replay.

FTR, by "straight ejection", do you mean they would've been ejected regardless of their foul situation?

Yes. Not just disqualified for fouls. It was High's 5th, meaning he was disqualified but could remain on the bench. It was Freeman's second technical, which I think is an automatic ejection, but they were both ejected and not allowed to stay on the bench.
 
Good to know. It looked to me like the ref ejected them. I thought maybe Hubert made High go to the locker room. Freeman returned to the bench for a few minutes before leaving. He should've already been ejected for throwing down Stevenson.
