Biorhythms for UNC v ECU, 8 pm Start in Chapel Hill

I like our record but I don't know if I'm being gunshy or realistic when I have the feeling that we don't have a win against a good team playing well. We've beaten good teams in Kansas and Kentucky and we've beaten a couple of decent team playing well but don't have what I consider a signature win.

That said, I'm the most excited about this team than I've been in a couple of years or so. We've got some real talent playing well and quite a bit of untapped and undeveloped potential.

What's your criteria for a signature win?

Wins and losses aside this team looks solid in the way they play the game and compete.

Having a talent like Wilson automatically raises the ceiling for a team.

I don't see us as Carolina 1-2 seed right now But we are a good team. As we get real tough teams Caleb may be the difference. Should be a fun ride and as we hit March -there is real potential

I wonder what UNC -47 woulda paid last night? Have to think it'd be better than (using your most helpful example) +304. +535 (ballparking)?
Not sure how to convert a spread to a ML since it is likely model and sport specific and could be game specific too. Will use the UK game to show some of the lines in either direction from the base spread/ML (-36.5/-110).

-33.5 = -162
-34.5 = -144
-35.5 = -129
-36.5 = -110
-37.5 = -103
-38.5 = +108
-39.5 = +121
-40.5 = +136

I feel the same. We were blown out by the only really good team we have played. Yeah we beat KU and UK, but they are watered down and nowhere near as good as they usually are. In reality we have yet to play a Top 10 team. MSU was 11 when they destroyed us. Duke is the only contender left on our schedule. So we are 12-1, so is Cal...really means little. I only care about being a contender and this team is flawed and far from a contender imho.

Michigan State is the only real national title contender that we’ve played so far imo. Usually you can count on at least one of either KU or UK falling in that category as well, but that’s just how the schedule broke this season.

Overall though it’s still a strong resume even if it lacks a true signature win. Think our 4 chances to pick up those will be @UVA (if they to win), Louisville, and Dook 2x.

The blowout was a 3 point game at the under 8 timeout without Seth who is clearly one of the key cogs so I think you're overplaying the level of destruction there.

You play who you play. Considering this is almost a completely new team it is hard to be certain how good they really are and could be. How many teams are flawless?

Regardless they are much easier on the eyes than last years group.

And it was MSU’s Fears who was the driver of that 19-6 run to end the game. Think Trimble playing changes that as well as the whole game in general.

coach Davis has done a great job assembling this team - it's crazy to think he's going to have to do it all again for next season but I guess that's how things are now
Turner gets credit as well, particularly for signing the Euros. My guess is that Turner is already working tirelessly in looking for the next Veesaar for next season. Wilson is not replaceable but adding Mingo to our signing of Maximo Adams would help.

OSU's Thornton had to work his a%$ off for his 14 points against us. Without Trimble, Fears entered the paint effortlessly for his floaters.
Yeah but coulda beens and woulda beens don't count for shit.

I still like this team a lot and it seems like we have a player show a little more every game. Even High and Brown are improving at a somewhat glacial rate. Denis showed up a little more yesterday as well.

It’s amazing what some quality bigs can do. If we had Wilson and Veesaar on last year’s team I have no doubt we would have been a championship contender. I also think Cadeau would have thrived with those guys to pass the ball to.

Put just one of those guys on the 2023-24 team and we likely dominate.

Yeah, there was some sloppiness, missed free throws, and that big English guy for ECU the Heels couldn't stop at the basket, but they still were able to crush ECU. UNC has a good team and just need to clean up some things. I think the free throw shooting is the most frustrating.

It's small numbers but Denis is 7/11 on FG and 4/7 from 3 in his limited time, and by the eye test his shot looks really nice. I think he can be a really high-impact guy next year and beyond, and I really hope we can keep in Chapel Hill. In other years I feel like Denis would gotten more attention if he wasn't buried in this year's ridiculous freshman class.

I guess Bogavac could return next season? Is that expected or is it assumed he's one and done?
I think that before the season it was believed that every significant player except Seth and Caleb could return next season, but with the expected caveat that not all might do so based on the results of the season.

Veesaar is very likely playing his way into draft consideration based on his play thus far this year. I've not heard anything that anyone is looking to transfer out.

Game with Sparty was close until the final 8 minutes.
