Biorhythms for UNC v Syracuse: Post Game Discussion

I don’t complain much but I will complain now, because I have been moved to do so. That last ~10 minutes was absolute garbage. That was some of the most godawful basketball I’ve ever seen. Wow. That left me speechless. Thank god we built a 32-point lead.

We had a 31 point lead with under 7 minutes to go.

He should have called a timeout and lit into them when Syracuse got it under 20. Instead he just let the subs play. Also, they looked liked they never practiced against a press.

In all seriousness I think Hubert struggled with when to bring starters out. They were gassed and looking at bench and then kind of checked out. Then we started kicking it away. Give him something to yell at them about. But that was ugly.

Syracuse never had a chance to win.

I'm sure no one is thrilled with the last 8 minutes but that's the way these things go sometimes. Wire to wire wire. It's dook week.

Yeah. It's not like the starters put the brakes on it when they got back in. Course, that stretch they were 11-12 while we were 1-8 from the field was bad. It's not that they had all open shots either or that their defense suddenly got great.

It never had much of a chance. It went from having a 0.1% chance per the ESPN model to a 4.4% chance at the narrowest. I mean, I get your point but it wasn't like the game got closely contested.

Eh. Not really emotional. I just couldn’t believe what I saw. I’ve seen some great comebacks, but it not sure I’ve seen a 30+ point lead dissipate quite like that. They were not likely to win but they cut it to a two possession game with enough time to take advantage of it, and we struggled to get out of our own way and do anything right.

I'm usually with you, but I don't think it's the way these things go *sometimes*. It's how they go very rarely. We don't have to assign much significance to it, but a 27-6 run is not a sometimes thing.

The Hubie haters are going to blow this as out of proportion as humanly possible. As if some sort of catastrophe has occurred.

Wire to wire win. The game was never in jeopardy.

Teams to let up with big leagues and Cuse caught fire for a decent stretch. Maybe they had the Heels minus the points. I could see that pissing you off. Some sort of coaching breakdown for 7 minutes or so? Nah.

I agree. It doesn’t happen like this very often in college games. It reminded me a bit of NBA games where it’s hard to hold a big lead to the finish. But in the end, not a big deal, imo. Big lead sloppiness that got a little carried away, but the win was never in doubt.
