Go ahead and watch it. It wasn't that bad.
Felt like there was some waxing and waning effort but it wasn’t that bad. Some weird rotations/lineups and some of that was due to the long stretches where the refs didn’t call anything (which helped usc-u as their limited bigs decided to be extra physical). I think their guards will cause problems in the big south, especially with their offensive coaching (former Devries assistant)

They were also holding the ball and running clock at some points. They played not to get blown out.

This is very disingenuous. We were only up 8 with 4 minutes remaining in the game. We had significantly more talent yet struggled to put them away.

That was indeed the stated game plan - their coach said as much. They purposefully ran clock in order to make UNC play D longer on each possession and to shorten the game, but to get out and run when the opportunity was there. And that's exactly what they did. Their hope was to steal one at 70-68 or thereabouts. And the fact that it was 68-60 in the second half meant they were almost successful. They are one of the top defensive rebounding teams in the Nation and they only lost by 9 to #23 Nebraska - who just beat #13 Illinois.

Not to make excuses, but the OP stated quite plainly, the Heels have a history of coming off exam week playing flat. That's exactly what we saw. I expected it. So did the OP.

That said, I'll take 50+% from the field with 20 assists and ten made 3 pointers any day. How about you?

Chill out, hater.

Feb. & March is basically the only time I care about in college basketball. Watching us play Upstate is like watching our FB team play Campbell.

Blaming exams is nothing more than an excuse. I'll gladly take a win but ignoring the deficiencies of the head coach simply because he was an alumn is burying your head in the sand. If HD proves me wrong I'll gladly admit I was wrong...I doubt you'll do the same.

Don’t be obtuse. No one is using “exams” as an excuse. The OP was merely pointing out the consistent flat play each and every year for Carolina coming off exam week. I concur. We’re not using it as an “excuse” but merely pointing out an historical fact. We come out flat in the first game after exams. Period. No excuses. Just fact.

Also, you’re the only one mentioning anything about “deficiencies” of the coaching/coach. Did I say there was or wasn’t any deficiencies?

And you can doubt anything I may or may not do, that’s totally on you. I don’t give a rats ass. Nobody cares what you “gladly admit”. Matter of fact I’m sure most will be glad if you’d just STFU.

I saw a post on Facebook from goheels.com that Adam Lucas wrote an article about James Brown diving on the floor for the ball and Hubert calling it the play of the game. And there were a lot of comments saying he and High need more playing time. While I do like seeing the hustle, I don't think more playing time for them is going to help the team be better.
