Don’t be obtuse. No one is using “exams” as an excuse. The OP was merely pointing out the consistent flat play each and every year for Carolina coming off exam week. I concur. We’re not using it as an “excuse” but merely pointing out an historical fact. We come out flat in the first game after exams. Period. No excuses. Just fact.

Also, you’re the only one mentioning anything about “deficiencies” of the coaching/coach. Did I say there was or wasn’t any deficiencies?

And you can doubt anything I may or may not do, that’s totally on you. I don’t give a rats ass. Nobody cares what you “gladly admit”. Matter of fact I’m sure most will be glad if you’d just STFU.
Obviously you're very emotional and a bit of a loose cannon. I'll try not to add any additional stress, brother.

I saw a post on Facebook from goheels.com that Adam Lucas wrote an article about James Brown diving on the floor for the ball and Hubert calling it the play of the game. And there were a lot of comments saying he and High need more playing time. While I do like seeing the hustle, I don't think more playing time for them is going to help the team be better.
yeah, HD calling that the play of the game is just sending a message to his main guys about effort.

The Hubert haters are desperate at this point
i was all aboard the HD train until last season when he lost me a bit but we look much better this season.

need to keep the foot on the gas but this team looks like it will do a lot of what we said it needed to do before the season for HD to keep his job: top 2-3 ACC finish, stay ranked throughout the year, beat some good teams OOC, high NCAAT seed, 2nd weekend at least in the big dance, etc.

Which, considering how the 50-50 balls went in that game, was a point worth making.

AS far as playing time for the two, they probably haven't earned much but getting them what time we can is as much about the years after this. I feel that, in the long run, focusing on having a core group of 3 and 4 year players is going to be the key to continuity for most programs, especially one like ours that is so influenced by traditions.

Would you prefer an echo chamber? I've certainly been guilty of hyperbole regarding HD, but some of you are triggered by criticisms. Ultimately I just want UNC to win and get back to an elite program.
I'd prefer people who are pulling for Coach Davis and thus UNC to suceeed.

It rubs me the wrong way when UNC fans run down UNC family and seem to take a perverse joy in them failing.

The last place I'd go for knowledgeable discussion of Carolina Basketball would be a Facebook comment section on a GoHeels article.

You are right, some are triggered by any criticisms.

I don't like certain criticisms, that lead me to believe it's more about certain characteristics of the coach than his actual coaching ability.

I'm the same as you, and really my reason for responding, I just want to get back to being a spoiled fan who knows that UNC will be competitive every year.

I wonder if we had beat Kansas if these last few years would have been more palatable.

I'd like more playing time because you never know when they are going to be needed. I think it also keeps from burning anyone out. I'm not sure I'm ready for another Iron 5.

nobody wants another Iron 5, but Brown and High have been almost unprecendentedly bad for UNC rotation players. It makes it so much harder for this team to win when they have to make up for the amount of points we hemorrhage by having one of them on the floor.
