Coach Davis 5/17/70 Wisdom = 55

Without knowing how the team’s will be reckoned we cannot deal in line-ups. There are 12 new faces on the 16-man squad. Familiar to the fans are Seth Trimble, James Brown, Zayden High, and John Holbrook. By position…
Guards: Kyan Evans (Pt), Seth Trimble, Derek Dixon, Jaydon Young, Isaiah Denis, and Evan Smith.
Wings: Caleb Wilson, Luka Bogavac, Jonathan Powell, Elijah Davis.
Frontcourt: Henri Veesaar, Jarin Stevenson, James Brown, Zayden High, John Holbrook, and Ivan Matlekovic.

Who has good-looking ritmos today? Of the men likely to see court time this season Jaydon Young, transfer guard from Goldboro by way of Virginia Tech has the marks. (By the way, there are 6 native-born Tar Heels on this team by my count) Jonathan Powell, a 6-6 sophomore wing in from West Virginia also looks solidly biorhythmic. Freshman Derek Dixon (6-5) has some good marks and the word is that he has been getting some run as a back-up point so that's something to watch.

What is the most likely starting line-up? Evans at point (1), Trimble at shooting guard (2), Bogavac on one wing (3), Wilson at the big wing (4), and Veesaar in the post. First man off the bench should be 6-10 Chathamite Jarin Stevenson followed by Powell and the promising frosh Dixon. Jaydon Young will get time on the wing and it will be interesting to see how the order falls in regard to James Brown, said to have bulked up considerably over recent months, and the return-from-exile Zayden High.

Big line-ups are possible with Stevenson and Veesaar on the court at once…Bogavac is 6-6 and could run with Trimble (6-3) and Wilson (6-9). There is great potential depth in this group, and there are possibilities for board work far beyond last year’s reality. The rim protection and overall defensive outlook is also solid – we are a tall team with a legitimate 7-footer in the paint and scrimmage reports indicate there is a good quotient of scrappiness in this squad.

Vamos a ver.

Be Kind Friends...its the first outing of the season.

About those Biorhythms...

P = Physical, E = Emotional, I = Intellect, M = X-Factor

What each of those measures mean exactly is something that has to be divined over time...that makes freshmen particularly dicey calls, or players with little previous playing time. Over the years it has seemed that specific categories are important in different ways to individual players. The truly great ones seem to make the most out of any good arc value. The P=Arc is Physicality and tends to measure speed, strength, agility and coordination. The E=Arc is Emotion and is an indicator of where a player's "head" is on a particular date...Ready to play or reticent. The I=Arc is Intellect and tends to show the level of the player's mental preparation and reaction. A low I=Arc can bode ill for making the proverbial "dumb play" or general execution.

Of course, I have to admit that I do this for fun and essentially to be more fully engaged with the team and the season.

Anyone know if there is any sort of live time media coverage?
Not officially regarding a video steam. Think they believe some random fans will throw up a stream at some point. I will be looking hard for one myself so will post it here if I find one.

Not sure about radio/play by play or anything though.

Ahhhh yes, hoops season commencing as MLB wrap up with playoffs always gives me the we fuzzies. My time of year.

Can we call the football game at the half and skip ahead to hoops? May as well skip ahead to some indication of whether the hoops season will be a disaster, too. I mean, it surely cannot be the unmitigated disaster of football … Sigh.

The fact there is no game day football thread on here is telling... probably for good reason.

Oh, it can be. I don't think it will be, but it definitely can.
