This whole FIFA peace award and board of peace is all because he's still pouting about losing the Nobel Peace Prize.

Why couldn't he have been denied an award related to honesty?

It is unclear what the ISF’s rules of engagement would be if there is combat, renewed bombing by Israel, or attacks by Hamas. Nor is it clear what role the ISF is meant to play in disarming Hamas, an Israeli condition to proceed with Gaza’s reconstruction.

As long as Trump is in office, it seems very likely that we are there to keep the terrorists in line and we are unlikely to pussyfoot around with any future antics by Hamas.

One positive about Trump is that he's not afraid to pull the trigger on military force against Islamic terrorism.

Though I don't necessarily see the rationale in spending money on such a facility.

November Rain is a weird choice for this gathering

Do you need some time on your own?
Do you need some time all alone?
Ooh, everybody needs some time on their own
Ooh, don't you know you need some time all alone?
I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you? Whoa
Sometimes, I need some time on my own
Sometimes, I need some time all alone
Ooh, everybody needs some time on their own
Ooh, don't you know you need some time all alone?
And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain, oh, yeah
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame
So, never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain
Don't you think that you need somebody?
Don't you think that you need someone?
Everybody needs somebody
You're not the only one
You're not the only one

Leaving aside the morality of taking Palestinian land for it, wouldn't a large US military base in Gaza remove most of the foreign policy rationale for our unwavering support of the Israeli government? Why keep paying for an unsinkable aircraft carrier controlled by lunatics when you have your own right next door?

This says "near" Gaza.

The U.S. military is exploring whether to build a temporary base capable of housing 10,000 people near Gaza, according to an internal contracting document, as the U.S. pushes for a stabilization force to monitor a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

The Navy is seeking a cost estimate from a list of pre-qualified companies for “a temporary, self-sustaining military base of operations capable of supporting 10,000 personnel and providing 10,000 square feet of office space for a period of 12 months,” according to a Request for Information seen by Bloomberg News.

“… I believe it’s the most consequential Board certainly in terms of POWER and int terms of prestige there’s never been anything close because these are the greatest world leaders almost everybody’s accepted and the ones that haven’t will be [nngg] and some are playing a little cute it doesn’t work you can’t play cute with me but they’re playing a little bit but uhhh they’re all they’re all joining everybody would bbb most of’em very immediately ahh …[first clip ends — second clip overlaps] a few that we really don’t want because they’re trouble, we’ll take care of them, but uhhh this is the most prestigious Board ever put together you know I’ve seen some great corp … [second clip ends]”

Troublemakers like this wise guy:

“… Trump just said the United States would pay $10 billion into the Board of Peace, which he created and leads.

He gave no details on where the money would come from or if the administration had even requested it from Congress, which [in a normal world] would have to approve the funds….”

——
As I noted on the Current Events thread, $10B is how much he sued the IRS for recently and said proceeds of a settlement would go to “charity”. Could be coincidental or could be he plans to use that to settle for the amount, “donate” it to the Board of Peace, take the charitable tax deduction for himself and control the now slush funds in his capacity as supreme being of the Board of Peace.
