Clark is the darling of republicans du jour, particularly since Sweeney turned out to not be what they thought she was. It is interesting that she elected to not endorse a candidate.

Not established enough to do so. Taylor Swift has Screw the Universe money. She doesn't and doesn't need to provoke fans or sponsors. She still did a good thing.

Meh, in this day and age, her simply “liking” that post is in and of itself a pretty big statement, as strange as that sounds. She’s already under the media microscope anyway so imo it’s completely understandable that she gave a pretty generic answer when she was asked about it. Also—and I swear I do not mean this in a “shut up and dribble” way at all—we really don’t need every famous athlete to give an in-depth endorsement or breakdown of their political stances, lol.

I do find it hilarious that Clark has been someone that conservatives have weirdly gravitated towards as part of their culture war nonsense, and now it comes out she’s a Dem. That’s gotta sting for them.

This is a serious question: is there a single “cool” celebrity in the conservative/MAGA movement? I’m not being facetious, I’m genuinely curious. I cannot think of any. Democrats have all sorts of the most prominent A-list celebrities and cultural icons openly supporting them. Who do the Republicans have? Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock?

Like, is there a single person in the conservative movement who isn’t an abject weirdo? The left has its share of odd birds and space cadets, but they mostly want pie in the sky things like blanket student loan forgiveness and free healthcare for everyone. The right is full of people- from the “celebrity” to the rank-and-file voter- who obsess about other people’s genitals, who muse about things like whether green M&M’s are fuckable enough, etc.

Just an observation.

I don’t think he’s Republican. He claims not to align with either political party. Not sure who he supports in this election, however.

Clint Eastwood supported Trump in 2016 but pulled his support in 2020. Not sure where he stands now but haven’t heard from him.

Bo Derek was active in Republican politics but not sure what her position is on Trump.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is (or at least was) a Republican but is anti-Trump.
