Bryson Dechambeau perhaps isn't 'cool,' but has a big following. And it is a bit hard to know how MAGA he is.

I don’t think he’s Republican. He claims not to align with either political party. Not sure who he suppers on this election, however.
He says he’s apolitical, but I think he’s a uber religious guy and anti-lgbtq

Bryson is a grifter and needs to be loved. Moved to MAGA to get the adoration

Meh, in this day and age, her simply “liking” that post is in and of itself a pretty big statement, as strange as that sounds. She’s already under the media microscope anyway so imo it’s completely understandable that she gave a pretty generic answer when she was asked about it. Also—and I swear I do not mean this in a “shut up and dribble” way at all—we really don’t need every famous athlete to give an in-depth endorsement or breakdown of their political stances, lol.

I do find it hilarious that Clark has been someone that conservatives have weirdly gravitated towards as part of their culture war nonsense, and now it comes out she’s a Dem. That’s gotta sting for them.
all of this.

liking that post was a huge tell even without her issuing an endorsement. she ain't a trumper.

This is a serious question: is there a single “cool” celebrity in the conservative/MAGA movement? I’m not being facetious, I’m genuinely curious. I cannot think of any. Democrats have all sorts of the most prominent A-list celebrities and cultural icons openly supporting them. Who do the Republicans have? Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock?

Like, is there a single person in the conservative movement who isn’t an abject weirdo? The left has its share of odd birds and space cadets, but they mostly want pie in the sky things like blanket student loan forgiveness and free healthcare for everyone. The right is full of people- from the “celebrity” to the rank-and-file voter- who obsess about other people’s genitals, who muse about things like whether green M&M’s are fuckable enough, etc.

Just an observation.
Nearly every celebrity who's revealed as MAGA basically immediately loses any "cool" they'd had, in this day and age. They're not getting canceled per se because they're still successful, but I feel like we're culturally in a time where a necessary condition for "cool" is "doesn't show contempt for minorities."

I think the closest answer to your question is probably Morgan Wallen, who's never going to say anything publicly about politics after the n-word incident but has definitely flirted with MAGA-ness - there was that viral clip of his concert audience chanting "Let's Go Brandon" before he came out and him laughing and saying "My name's not Brandon" when he did.

Like Kanye or Voight, they had started to be crazy on the way to Trump..and his words are like poetry in crazytown.

A lot of golfers are conservative (although maybe not as many on tour today as compared to 20, 30, 40 years ago).

I think it’s fair to say that DeChambeau is definitely more outward about it though. He can claim that his round that he played with Trump for YouTube wasn’t about politics or whatever and that’s all well and good, but he has a history with the Trumps. Seems to be good friends with Eric, they’re who he parties with when he wins big tournaments, and he had the Trump logo as a sponsor on his fricking golf bag at one point.

One he bought in Scotland, Turnberry, has hosted the British Open four times (though the organizers have said that it won't host it again so long as the Trump organization owns it).

Yeah. The PGA Championship was going to be at Bedminster, a Trump course, but they nixed that after the January 6th stuff. And Doral used to have a big tournament every year that the PGA co-sponsored for something like 50 years, but after Trump bought it and he won the Republican nomination in 2016, they took the tournament away from him.

I was surprised at all the golfers that ended up playing with Trump. I guess I shouldn't be because like I say he owns a lot of nice courses and he is an ex-president. I think more of the big names have played with Trump than have not. Rory played with Trump after he was elected but he criticized Trump's covid response and said he won't play with him anymore.

Well it didn’t take long for the butthurt conservatives to turn on Clark lol. Her Instagram comments are filled with stupid shit like this. If I cared as much about politics as some of these people do then I would probably throw myself off of a bridge.

The pro tours are 99% Republican.

Bryson is definitely Republican. To be fair on the video though, he invited Biden to play a round also.

I thought we were talking about cool people. I don't know a single golfer who would fit that description.

Kelsey Grammar?

Man, not Frasier.
Yeah, for a while now, Kelley Grammar's private life and political beliefs have been disappointing to those of us who find the characters he plays on TV to be endearing in an odd sort of way. A line from "Cheers" after the Shelly Long character had dumped Grammar's character on their honeymoon in Italy sort of encapsulates that endearment. Once back in Boston at Cheers, Grammer's character said he had inspired two new expressions in Italy. 1. When a soccer player tries to kick the ball bit misses, it's called a Fraiser. 2. If he then subsequently falls to the ground and knocks himself out, it's called a Fraiser Crane.

more broadly speaking, though, this is on the right track because the coolest conservative celebrity is almost certainly a professional athlete, probably a quarterback. Name a white quarterback who's not Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow and they're probably a Republican, even if they're not going to come out swinging with an endorsement or huge political statement.

The actual answer to @CFordUNC 's question may well be Josh Allen.
