Caleb Wilson Done For The Year (Broke Other Thumb In Practice)

Pump the brakes Super? That Worthy “first step” hasn’t been duplicated. Also James broke his leg the first year of NBA and came back to finish his degree! Get back to me when these kids come back for Summer School.
I have no idea why summer school is relevant here. It's hard to compare because they are playing different opponents with different allowed levels of physicality, but it sure seems to me that Caleb is just as quick. And he changes direction faster and jumps higher too.

You do you super. I’ve never had your level of all “knowing” or superiority in IQ and confidence in my opinion being “super” to others. I truly appreciate your intelligence and insight but having been in summer school with James in an acting class I’m sure I’m jaded. He was one of the most down to earth folks I’ve ever known? So yeah I’m biased but never try to tell me that when he was playing anybody could stop that first step. I can’t apologize for my love but can question your AI certainty?

As sad as this made me for me, and us, it really makes me exponentially sadder for Caleb and the team.

Caleb appeared to be loving his collegiate experience, loved being a Tar Heel, and I bet would have been an easy guy to market during the tourney as a "face" of college basketball.

We, as UNC, lose that and it would have helped recruiting for years to come. But Caleb and his teammates lose this one opportunity for all time.

I don't think his injuries impact future recruiting. It's an unfortunate turn of events for sure. I'm glad he got to have some memorable moments in his short time in CH.

Agree that it won't impact future recruiting, but do think a healthy Caleb would have been a great sales pitch for the Heels this March.

So more of a lost opportunity than an actual direct impact

Jesus. UNC has too often been snakebit by injuries over the years - that 1977 team would likely have won the national title if they weren't all banged up, Kenny Smith's injury against LSU, Steve Hale collapsing a lung in 1986, Jeff Lebo getting the flu against Syracuse in 1987, Kendall Marshall's broken wrist, and so on. And now this. What awful luck Caleb has had since the dook game. He's been so much fun to watch this season and he seems to enjoy playing so much. I'm definitely going to miss him next year.

Does anyone recall a player breaking a bone in their hand on a dunk?
In a game?
At practice?

I know the Braves pitcher Cecil Upshaw got his finger caught in the net after a dunk attempt, totally messed up his major league career.

Of course having your sneaker blow out in a game and messing up your leg at the end of your one and done year in the semesterhood was sort of weird too… I guess it’s just a tobacco road sort of bad juju.
