the jury is pretty clearly still out on HD as a head coach and on his future at UNC.

but this kid would definitely raise both our ceiling and floor for next season and will help attract other talented players.
 
Holy crap...what a great get Coach Davis!

If he learned some things from the portal last year & is able to get a nice haul this summer, we'll be pretty good next year.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I think Drake Powell is coming back.

Maybe we should wait until he actually commits before celebrating.
He is announcing tonight between us and Kentucky.
I understand signs point to UNC.
 
Cadeau, Jackson, Trimble, Powell and Wilson would be a great starting 5. Would be a little undersized still. If Powell goes then they would definitely need another big for the middle. Cadeau, Jackson, Trimble, Wilson and a true big for the 5.

You think Ian Jackson is coming back?

No wonder you're so angry and disappointed all the time. Makes perfect sense now.
 
I think it's extremely unlikely Jackson comes back. There isn't a ton of upside for him at this point unless he tanks the last part of the season. Powell is trickier. He's in the lottery in at least one well regarded NBA mock, but he's not in some at all. He's a Carolina kid and if there is uncertainty as to his draft position I think with the right NIL package and the fact he has a ton of upside it might make sense for him to return. Definitely need a prototype big out of the portal regardless.

Seems like people that claim to hate “negative” fans are also the quickest to lash out with snarky condescending posts like this.

i don't believe that we're pursuing any other high impact HS players at this time.

we will need to hit the portal hard. definitely losing RJ, withers, claude and jackson barring something crazy bad happening. possibly others, too.
