There is a 100 billion gallons of water a year that doesn't go to Southern California because of the Delta Smelt but instead, is routed out into the Pacific Ocean. I don't know whether that is good or bad but apparently those are the facts.
You know completely well how effed up that is. But libs gonna lib. There will be no self-reflection among the voters that voted for these idiots running this shit show. Delta Smelt, LOL. How many houses and businesses are the delta smelts worth? And to be honest, even if it isn't due to the delta smelt it would be something just as ridiculous.

Just lol at how many trump comments are posted on a thread that has zero to do with trump. Just further evidence of how TDS consumes this board. Would there even be a zzl without trump?

I live here in Southern California and while we have wildfires multiple times a year, nothing about this week's fires is normal.
  • Wind Event has not been seen since 2011. What was unique about this week's winds were their strength at lower elevations
  • January is not normally a time of severe fire weather. It usually occurs when it's warmer and usually we've had significant rain by January.
  • Entire neighborhoods burnt to the ground: This is not normal for SoCal. Typically homes in the hills surrounded by brush are destroyed, but entire city blocks are not.

lol you don't want to hear any input, you want me or the others to respond so you and the rest of the board can attack and pretend you have retaken the moral high ground. What is typical of this board though is that due to the rampant TDS, the focus is on trump, who hasn't even taken office yet and can't officially do a damned thing. Why is there no water / water pressure? Why is the mayor in africa? Where is the local leadership? Was money cut from the FD budget? Where is the master plan for preventing this? God knows tax resources shouldn't have played a part in this. If anyone thinks part of this couldn't have been prevented through proper management then they are f'ing idiots and should be mocked. The fault and path forward lies locally. Not with what trump spouts off about. What are your thoughts about the local management, planning, prevention, etc.? Not what trump said.
Every single one of those questions has already been answered with accurate information posted on this thread. Nice attempt to deflect, though. You voted for the only person in presidential history to attack Americans during times of natural disaster for ideological reasons. Congratulations. Your defense of him speaks to your character. I only regret I was dumb enough to defend you last year when you were saying you didn't support the guy.

Trump lied about immigrants eating pets, he lied about the government response to Hurricane Helene, he's told so many lies at this point it's obvious they don't care if he lies. It doesn't matter to them that he falsifies his business documents. They turn a blind eye to his admitted sexual assault of young women. They justify the BIG LIE trying to overturn an election with more lies. Why do you think him lying about water in California of all places would be a come to Jesus moment for these deplorables?

You are a fucking moron. The reason that there will be no "self-reflection" among libs is that what you are contending is false.

Let's try this slowly. Do you understand how rivers work? Do you know where the water from rivers comes from? Perhaps if you understood that -- I mean, do we really have to argue about the existence of gravity? -- then the rest will follow. Or not.

Needless to say, none of this is about the delta smelt. The water policies of Northern California are determined by the need to keep salt out of freshwater aquifers used for farming and drinking. If you and your ilk had their way, vast amounts of farmland would be destroyed. And there's no way to get vast amounts of water to Southern California. I-5 is for cars and trucks, not H2O.

As for the water pressure, I will again refer you to gravity. Do you understand how water moves in a system of pipes?

A Canadian who owns an aviation company that specializes in dropping water on fires was just intercom on NPR’s The World. He said they currently have aircraft in California, South America, and Australia.

He said expectations are for the impacts of fires to double over the next 10 years. He said fighting fires today is significantly more complex and difficult than 10-20 years ago.

Maybe these are issues that should be examined and not what trump and elon, thousands of miles away, are tweeting.

"Caruso called the issue a “systemic problem of the city” and said that “our infrastructure is old,” the Los Angeles Times reported.
The L.A. Councilmember who represents the Palisades, Traci Park, also blasted DWP, calling the hydrant issue a “chronic under-investment in the city of Los Angeles,” according to The Times"

He either doesn't know what the government he's about to take over is doing, or he's intentionally lying. Which is it, Pubs?

The Biden administration is flush with cash to help California as deadly fires spread near Los Angeles, thanks to the $100 billion in disaster aid Congress cleared before Christmas.

As President-elect Donald Trump accuses Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom of inadvertently causing the fires raging near Los Angeles, the Biden administration is surging federal help to the region with money from the disaster aid package Congress approved in December for agencies like FEMA and the Forest Service. California is already set to be reimbursed for firefighting costs, after FEMA approved a grant Tuesday night, and federal firefighters are on the scene.
LOL Come on, you are better than this. Where should the real focus be? Why are you getting played by trump? Your critical thinking skills have to be better than this post.

Take just a moment and look at your links. You're so deep in the right wing disinformation world you can't tell your ass from a hole in the ground. How did this happen to you? You're a smart guy. How did you let right wing media make you such a moron?

This isn't about trump. I haven't defended trump once in this thread because this isn't about him. Jesus are you so far gone you don't even know what defending someone means or looks like? The only deflection is your insistence to not focus blame where it lies. But I get it. Your entire political ideology is laid bare and it isn't pretty to look at. Dem gov., Dem mayor, Dem legislature and the shit show highlights just how bad it is and your response is to focus on that mean ole donald trump.

This is what a city with a Pub mayor, Pub governor and Pub legislature looked like after Helene.

And you know what the Dem president did? He helped. He supported. He encouraged. He made sure resources were available. So you can fuck right off with the blame game. You voted for a man who hates America. That's on you. Don't expect to get a pass here.

Calla? Comments? This is 100% false and hopelessly naive. You want to defend this attack on people who are working hard to deal with a natural disaster?
LMAO. I don't give a damn what trump is tweeting about something he is 3000 miles away from. I'm smart enough to understand what he is doing and that it means absolutely nothing in regards to what is playing out in LA right now. How someone smart enough to get into and finish law school can be so easily manipulated by trump blows my mind. I have read a lot about this fire over the last 3 days and not one time did I ever think of trump or what he has to tweet about. This is completely about infrastructure, budgets, prevention, foresight, local and state management, and learning from past mistakes. Do you disagree? Please give me a logical reason this is about trump? TDS isn't a logical reason.

LOL, you are literally blaming a guy who isn't even president yet. He is a private citizen. Did trump EVER help a dem state? If so, then that just renders your post and picture moot.
