When I hear people like Megyn Kelly, all I can think is ... brain damage.

At least they have a chance at getting a better dad.She knew what an awful person she married. It's like feeling bad for Melania when Trump kicks it on to hell.
I feel bad for the kids.
There seems to be a pattern that falling from grace at Fox and being cast into the right-wing outer darkness drives many of these former celebrities insane. It is a rude fall from being an influential Fox superstar and center of attention to a virtual nobody with a much smaller audience on some lonely podcast or satellite radio or dinky right-wing network. Not only Kelly, but look at Tucker Carlson becoming ever more unhinged in his need to grab attention to try to stay relevant - it wouldn't surprise me at this point if he announces that left-wing vampires are sucking the blood of innocent church people around the country. Glenn Beck is more unhinged and paranoid than ever, and Bill O'Reilly has curdled into total bitterness and grumpy old man bitching about everything status. And it all couldn't have happened to a more deserving group of people, imo. When I hear people like Megyn Kelly, all I can think is ... brain damage.
Like the saying, my version of heaven would get be sent straight to hell.I would have expected more hot, buxom blondes.
More like counted on it. I might need to rethink my religion.
I think of a grifter. She got her start on a Fox News but then tried to rebrand herself. When that didn’t work she moved back to hard right. When I hear people like Megyn Kelly, all I can think is ... brain damage.
She seems to have been flailing to become relevant again since she left Fox, shifting positions like a lot of chameleons trying to get a foothold with MAGA after Trump was recuperated on the right from his behavior after the 2020 election and J6.I think of a grifter. She got her start on a Fox News but then tried to rebrand herself. When that didn’t work she moved back to hard right.
She is just picking whatever position brings her $$$.
Agree except for parts of last paragraph.I don't think anyone here underestimates Kirk's power, influence, and reach. He was obviously one of the leading MAGA figures, and was very close with several members of the Trump organization. He would not have risen to where he got without being intelligent and charismatic.
But I have to roll my eyes at this line: "Kirk wasn't a right wing provocateur; instead, he was famous for showing up on campuses with a smile and politely engaging with liberals in a friendly manner." Kirk's fame and career were built on antagonizing "angry liberals" so that he could create clips of them that triggered conservatives over how "crazy" and "extreme" liberals are. He was one of the earliest adopters and best employers of the modern, algorithm-friendly "ragebaiting" culture. He was much more intelligent and urbane than, say, Chaya Raichik, who employs a much cruder and more vicious version of the formula, and a much more serious political operative as a result, but his entire career and schtick were built on dividing people, not bringing them together. And of course, he devoted most of his time and energy over the last 8-9 years to supporting Donald Trump's authoritarian movement, while fully endorsing the worst of Trump's falsehoods, like CO-19 conspiracy theories, the 2020 election "Big Lie" and the J6 assault on the Capitol.
So, while his death is tragic, the reality is that Kirk had a major role in creating the current superheated political culture and rhetoric that many on the right are now blaming for his death. He should not have been killed, and his death will definitely be a negative thing for the country, but the reality is that he rose to fame, fortune, and power through making us all a little angrier at each other.
Name me one right wing journalist you don’t have a negative opinion of. Love me some MK, DP, and BO. My hope is that MK doesn’t go the way of SH, JW, and LI. don’t think MK had a fall from grace. She seems to be doing quite well. Hard for me to believe she is almost 56.There seems to be a pattern that falling from grace at Fox and being cast into the right-wing outer darkness drives many of these former celebrities insane.
