Charlie Kirk shot and killed at Utah rally.

So this guy was right....

Seems like the groyper thing is less about ideology and much more a club for social outcasts and low IQ - high psychopathy paranoid young men
groypers are absolutely an ideology. Nick Fuentes is an out-and-out white Christian supremacist who has broken from the rest of his ilk because his antisemitism is so strong that he can't bring himself to support Israel. there are some one-minute clips of him that circulate among liberals and the left because he's criticizing israel, but anybody who is actually in his spaces knows who he is and who they are.

Apparently Nick Fuentes hated Charlie Kirk.
  • Ideological divide: Before Kirk's death, he and Fuentes had a public and antagonistic relationship. Despite espousing far-right views himself, Kirk was frequently attacked by Fuentes and his "groyper" followers for not being radical enough.
  • "Groyper Wars": In 2019, Fuentes's supporters disrupted Kirk's campus events, accusing him of being a "gatekeeper" who watered down the populist message of the MAGA movement.
  • White nationalist rhetoric: The two parted ways largely because of Fuentes's embrace of explicitly white nationalist, antisemitic, and homophobic rhetoric, which was deemed too extreme for Kirk's attempt to operate within the mainstream conservative movement.

Save yourself the trouble--the shooter is a terminally online kid with leftwing "anti-fascist" positions. Besides the bullet casings, he told his friends/family that he reviled Kirk's message of "hate."

The Bella ciao and three arrows reference and "fascist" definitely points toward Antifa.

Whatever this kid's exact ideology turns out to be (and it may be a little incoherent) it's clear that he was hyper online. If nothing else comes from this maybe this can help us have a much-needed reckoning about how toxic online spaces are and how they incentivize and promote extremist rhetoric and action. Social media and other online spaces are rotting out kids' brains.

I get who Fuentes is and at the core it being an alt-right antisemitic group

It just feels like a lot of mentally ill people with contradictory and difficult to decipher beliefs fall into these spaces

Hopefully we never have to hear conservatives lecture about how there should be no limits on edgy jokes, and how people losing their jobs and getting "canceled" for wild comments online is bad. The second it benefited them they became hypocrites that couldn't live their raps

Next time just admit you want to be able to say whatever you want about black people, immigrants, and trans people with impunity, and miss us with the self proclaimed principles

Good luck with that. Red-state legislatures are more likely to blame humanities programs for radicalizing good white Mormons into antifa assassins. I expect severe restrictions on academic freedom--such as it is--in universities.

If someone writes up down right right right on a bullet, and that happens to be the exact combo for calling in an airstrike in a video game, and he was shooting someone from an elevated position, and another bullet said "catch this, fascist," I'm going with a video game reference.

I fully recognize how hard it will be. A lot of people profit a lot from making these online spaces so toxic (and Charlie Kirk was one of the best examples of those people). The people and businesses who have captured the eyeballs, minds, and dollars of young Americans (and increasingly all Americans) are not going to give that up willingly - any more than Fox News will be willing to give up the toxicity and grievance that keep its own audience constantly angry (and constantly tuning in).

not just kids, adults too. hoards of middle aged and even elderly people are drowning in the social media/online brain-rot ecosystem.

its why i left all social media (aside from this site). it's glaringly obvious bad news.

i hope that 20 years from now we're talking about it almost like we do cigarettes now. "oh, you still have _____? wow..."

Inscriptions were also found on three unfired casings. The first one read, "Hey fascist! Catch!" with an up arrow, a right arrow and three down arrows. The second one said, "Oh Bella, ciao, bella, ciao Bella ciao ciao ciao." The third one read, "If you read this, you are gay LMAO"

Same bullet has both the arrows & "Hey fascist! Catch!" on it.

But other than that, yeah, the arrows are almost certainly a video game reference.
