Oh, this feels like some whitewashing. It might be true, but Iā€™d like more than a third hand account of a conversation as supporting evidence.
If it is true, what the hell kind of left-leaning sites on the internet can induce that kind of a 180? It seems like right leaning stuff is everywhere, but leftist propaganda? That anyone would pay attention to?

"Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said one of Tyler Robinsonā€™s family members told investigators Tyler had become more political in recent years. The family member said at a recent dinner, Robinson and a second relative discussed Kirkā€™s coming outdoor event on the Utah Valley campus in Orem.

ā€œThey talked about why they didnā€™t like him and the viewpoints that he had,ā€ Cox, a Republican, said at a news briefing Friday.

That needs a great deal more attribution and explanation. Why are they getting this kind of quotations from the governor rather than the investigators? Who is the "us" that Governor Cox references? Why can't those investigators speak for themselves? How is "leftist ideology" actually defined in Utah...by a GOP Governor?

That's a really sad commentary.

I've read so many post these last few days stating that we are different because there were riots and protest after the Floyd murder but only prayers after the Kirk murder. It takes some real cognitive dissonance to make that statement considering Jan 6th and the threats/promises of civil war because of the Kirk murder.

Interesting how on Jan 7th basically everyone was unhappy with what happened, it took a concerted effort and a 4 year campaign to change the narrative.

The vast majority of shooters are white males, not Trans.

IMO this is the most underdiscussed threat to the future of society. We're talking about significant proportions of Gen Z and Gen A who have no ability to function in society and whose social existence is exclusively online.

I thought it was very strange that the governor was the primary speaker at all of those press conferences. Typically a governor (or mayor, or President, or whatever senior executive is present) will offer their concerns and condolences and turn the podium over to the police chief (or fire chief, or FBI AIC, or FEMA official, etc) to discuss details and progress of an investigation.

I felt the governor being the primary spokesperson from the first press conference indicated an immediate political weaponization of this event from the get-go. That feeling was reinforced by the governorā€™s ā€œanalysisā€ of selected bits of alleged evidence. I was shocked when some people were saying how Utahā€™s governor acquitted himself well during this ā€œcrisisā€ simply because he wasnā€™t as crass as Donald Trump, while being every bit as partisan as Trump.
