Charlie Kirk shot and killed at Utah rally.

Jesus said,

18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. 25 But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause".

Right-wingers on X today still blaming the left — college professors, Democrats, so on and so forth.

Jesse Watters calling Democrats murderers.

Stephen Miller pointing to the reaction of some to Kirk’s tragic death and saying there is a terrorist movement on the left.

They aren’t letting go of the narrative. Trying to intensify things.

Folks here who are Trump supporters — how dangerous would you say this is?

The Donald and Junior are both pieces of shit. That fact aside, I find it incredibly amusing how both sides are absolutely convinced that the issue of violence and dangerous rhetoric is only from the other side.... When it is so obviously not the case.

This is the problem with monetized social media and all of the legacy news sources that are now competing with monetized social media. You have to pander to one side or the other, to some degree, to stay afloat. CNN probably does the best job of trying to be balanced and, not coincidentally, they are struggling the most of the three cable news stations.

For the most part, people just don't want to hear balanced. They want confirmation bias. They want to be told that their anger is well placed and justified.
Trumps are terrible, but BOTH SIDES are terrible. - Zen

Really? Let’s line up some examples apples/apples.- IC

I don’t have time to look up examples..both sides though! - Zen

This is why I talk about the prisoners' dilemma and why liberals need to understand the dynamics.

The right HAS to go full authoritarian. There is nowhere else for them to go. And having committed to that, they will use the powers that authoritarianism provides.

Laura Loomer wanting Trump to go full fascist is no more shocking than the right-wing fever swamps being convinced the shooter was a radical leftist; both parties came to the conclusion they innately wanted to reach and then cast about for any proof, real or imagined, to support that conclusion.

Loony Loomer’s ugly ass better be careful what she wishes for with the dictator thing. Throughout history most dictators end up disemboweled, strung up in the streets, hung, or otherwise deposed.

The discourse around Charlie Kirk is yet another reminder that the whole entire conservative model relies on 35-year-old men debating inexperienced college students.I remember 2019, when Ben Shapiro faced the indignity of having to go up against Andrew Neil, an experienced professional, and he got destroyed. He lashed out. He called a renowned conservative broadcaster a “leftist.” Because when forced to go up against someone who was on his level, he found that he actually *couldn’t* defend his ideas quite so well when they were placed under scrutiny. This is the core, fundamental fraudulence that lies at the heart of the American conservative movement: they can’t truly defend their sick and depraved ideas unless they’re playing the game on easy mode.
