I've noticed that many people have decorated for Christmas early this year.

So, we joined the trend and started our decorating yesterday. Pretty much finished the front yard today, may add in a few more things.

We did about 50% of the inside. The trees are up, but not decorated. Most of the house, otherwise, is complete.
 
I can’t get over how early people have decorated this year. Lots of houses with all the decorations up now, and saw many a week ago. And I really cannot get over all the trees I’ve seen up. I don’t know that I had ever seen a home with a Christmas tree up prior to Thanksgiving.l before this year.

The only other year I saw so many people have all their decorations up this early was 2020. I got it then because so many people were stuck at home and it was something to do. But I’m not sure why people got on it so early this year.
 
I love my Christmas decorations. But after they are up 5 weeks I'm also ready to declutter and get some space back. The warm glow of the lights at night is so peaceful inside but yeah I always get very over it by about the 28th of December and I want clean shelves and floors again

So they don't go up before Thanksgiving. Maybe I get a start on some fence lights sometimes but that's it

We typically wait until December to get our tree, but I think it’ll be most convenient if we get it the weekend after Thanksgiving this year. Close enough.

Assuming because you said "get our tree" that you have a live tree.

I dove by a local tree farm the other day and the parking lot was full. It's interesting that it starting earlier. I wonder if it will continue and in the future we just take down Halloween decorations and put up Christmas decorations.

We get a real tree each year.

Put up a tree in August if you like but I think Christmas is a December celebration.

Real tree is the only way to go. The animals love it and it makes the house smell like the season.

The only things in our house that don’t get decorated for Christmas are the cat and me. My wife loves decorating. She puts up 6 additional trees in addition to the one in the foyer that’s a seasonally decorated year round tree. The fireplace mantel and several tables also get the treatment. Some of the trees are themes. One is decorated just with Santas. Another one just has ornaments on it that we have bought on trips. One if the good things about her efforts is I don’t have to decorate. My job is getting the boxes out of the basement and putting them back. She doesn’t trust me to do it right, and I’m glad she doesn’t trust me.

Give me your address, I'll send you Christmas PJs so you can be decorated too. 😁 Sorry, I'd have to know the cat better to send him a pair also.

Maybe you can include some pictures of your trees. I love decorating, the taking down, not so much, but I love the colors and the trees, smells, the whole things.

Next year, after the basement is done and the house is more organized, I'm going to get out all of our trees. I have a white tree that I decorate all in UNC decorations, but I've not put it up since we moved.

Well maybe, the way life is, I'm not sure where I'll be next year at Christmas.
