Coffee thread

So is roasting your own coffee beans the new brewing your own beer in your house?
It has always seemed much more niche than home brewing to me. I've known plenty of people who do beer brewing but I don't personally know (outside of online interactions) other people who roast coffee.

I buy KCups-because I am lazy. The kids gave me a Coffee maker with a grinder-too much work
I have a cup every morning and it is like you can have one beer and you pick an Ole Milwaukee

I buy whole bean, grind it, and use the reusable K-cups. The idea of using plastic k-cups freaks me out.

I grind with a Baratza encore. My coffee pot is just a Ninja drip/kcup coffee maker. Has some iced coffee settings. My wife and son use that. I don’t think I’ve ever had an iced coffee. Not my cup of joe if you know what I’m saying.

My coffee habits have come a long way since my first coffee at my grandparents when I was about 6 or so. Luzianne with chicory fixed in a percolator and so hot they they'd pour it in a saucer to drink it so it would cool quicker. I had mine with plenty of sugar and cream. It was still a mite bitter.
