I have no idea what this means for his career. I know he's likely out all this season but I just assumed he would come back... and maybe he will. Obviously this is a GREAT move for Duke.

Collegiate sports are broken.

I don't think it makes sense to say collegiate sports are broken when basketball and football are the only sports we're talking about. Those two have been professional for a very long time. The rest have evolved but are not that different from how they've always been.

This is just stupid. I don't care if they get paid but the NCAA needs to do something to stop all the transferring every year and stuff like this that makes no sense. What's to keep someone from leaving college early, playing in the NBA a few years and flaming out, but then be able to come back and play college for how many years they had left? Maybe Carolina can get Jordan, Stackhouse, Sheed, Carter and Jamison to come back to play.

I wonder if Giannis wants a degree?

What’s the difference between being a pro in the G League and one in a European league?

If we’re allowing the former, I have no problem with the latter.

I am interested in how long it’ll take someone to leave the NBA

I thought about that when I posted this. I don't think there's much difference at all.

There's zero difference. We have a guy who played professionally, why can't Louisville?

It's probably about right ... for now. Polls at this point are less than meaningless.
I don't know that they're meaningless, but I think they're far less predictive than in the pre-portal era. There's just so much turnover at nearly every program that it's hard to forecast how things will pan out of a lot of teams.

True. Even though it's a glorified scrimmage, this weekend's game against #8 BYU may give us a little insight into what expectations may be justified for this year's edition of Tar Heel hoopsters. Sadly, I'll likely miss it live. Gotta work. Hopefully, someone will post it here.
