I'm sure this will be an unpopular take, but...
I am so thoroughly disgusted with the current game. It's literally a three point shooting contest.
There is almost no work being done down low. NO mid-range game... and I know this change didn't happen over night, and it's not as if I don't appreciate great shooters... but everyone on the court is just trying to get free for a three.

Kentucky reminded me of one of those super deep Calipari teams that nobody knew the best players or the roles
Contrast that with Louisville who came out and played exactly how you might expect

I agree - I miss the days when players who played different positions had different skill sets. Watching a Patrick Ewing or JR Reid or Brad Daugherty or Eric Montross play center or power forward as it was meant to be was something. Now even centers and forwards spend much of their time just jacking up threes. Those days in the late 80s/1990s were special. As you said though, I guess I'm just getting old.

Hidalgo is really, really good but her antics on the court are super annoying.
Championship game two years ago. Regional final last year. Hardly what I would call "flaming out." And yes, I know they lost in the 1st round to FDU in 2023.
Yeah just took a quick glance at their last 10ish seasons and they pretty consistently finish roughly at or better than their preseason rankings in the AP poll. Good program that has been a little snakebitten in the tournament.
Especially pulling away after Bama had tied it back up at 80.
