One big factor though is that whether leaving for the NBA or transferring, modern college basketball players are at a school for such a short period. Hate takes time.

In the latter K years, only 1 dookie really developed a full hateability quotient - Grayson Allen, who was there for 4 years.
Paolo Banchero and Theo John had high hateability. Matthew Hurt. RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish, and Zion. Luke Kennard. Amile “Lew Alcindor” “Ralph Sampson” “Elvin Hayes” “Buck Williams” Jefferson.

scheyer is just no where near as unlikable as k (who is?)

I think that’s mainly the difference
I think it's that plus the fact that it's really hard to build up a good hatred for many of their best players when those players are only there for one season.

I’m going to burn every bit of goodwill I might have built up here by saying this, but here goes —

Has anyone else noticed that Duke’s teams seem way more likeable since Scheyer took over?
Only because the players don't stay long enough for us to know them.

It's still worth trying. Since about 2020, I don't know anything about any of their players, but I still manage to hate them all individually AND collectively by the end of the first game against us.

Agree on this side..I only really dislike the players in Epstein Blue after a few games.
The fly by night ones, hardly knew ye. Bacot, however, lots of hatred
