Smacked?I mean even UVA, with their weak-ass schedule, getting in the playoffs would be a joke. They got smacked by NC State and Wake Forest. The conference SUCKS.
And I know Duke may very well be left out when it breaks up, but at this point, it's been so horribly run as a league, I won't even be sad.
(oh and football conferences should be 100% different than other sports....which should be regional and smaller)
Kick out NC State.I'm curious what things you think the ACC should have done/be doing differently that would have made it successful?
Kiffin is throwing the bombs on the way out the door. Not worried about that reference letter.
Just how much damage will that do to the ACC? I have always thought the ACC could stay as a P4 but am now beginning to wonder. Certain parties, Stankey and others, would love to force UNC and a few others ACC teams to join the SEC or the Big10. Had figured that being in the ACC actually increased ACC teams chances of making the CFP, this year could set the ACC back a great deal in that regard. The ACC should be shut out. The league is horrendous.
This is what I really think the future will beJust take 32 to 48 schools and have a separate league for football for the big programs. Have divisions like the NFL based on geography. Run the playoffs like the NFL playoffs. The rest of the schools can play with the group of 5 and they can set up the same deal for a lower division. Then you can have smaller conferences for all the other sports with 12 teams max.
How the ACC fares in the future very likely depends on how many of its teams the SEC & B1G decide to take.Just how much damage will that do to the ACC? No way Miami gets in ahead of ND or Alabama if it comes to that.
Am beginning to think top schools in ACC do need to look at joining with the best of the Big 12 to make a P3 conference football world. But I really don't know what to expect.
