After getting snubbed in favor of Miami, Notre Dame refused to participate in a bowl game, but I see they are willing to participate in the broadcast of the Hurricanes’ national championship game.

A blocked punt isn't considered a turnover.

Is a fumbled punt that is never kicked?
Yes.

The turnovers rules are dumb.

I've said for years that I'd like an updated turnover stat that includes a multiplier/minimizer. Failed fourth downs would be a 1 TO. Returns for a TD would be 3TO. A long interception on 3rd down would be 0T0, as would a hail mary. A short interception on 4th down would be a .5TO. An interception on 1st and 10 or 2nd and short would be 2TO. A short interception on 3rd and short would be .5TO.

Haven't fully thought through all the math. But in general, football does a terrible job in lumping all TOs as the same.

The block punt may have actually helped Miami. Loosened up Indiana's defense and helped with field position.

Now, Indiana will have the ball at its own 25 up 3. If the punt wasn't blocked, Indiana would have the ball up 3 at midfield and Miami would have no confidence.

Whew

Didn't think it would be a close game. Impressive battle. Thank goodness Beck was himself

Indiana as champions is still weird to say

I am zero percent pissed.

It played out as I expected. I thought the line of 8.5 pts was way overdone. I didn’t *expect* UM to win, but I expected them to keep it close and have a chance at the end.

Congrats to IU and cignetti.

Good game. I look forward to UM being “back” in the hunt on a regular basis.
