Emergency Triad: The United States commits imperial suicide.

“…
Understand this: There is no going back.

If, tomorrow, Donald Trump revoked his entire regime of tariffs, it would not matter. It might temporarily delay some economic pain, but the rest of the world now understands that it must move forward without America.

If, tomorrow, Donald Trump abandoned his quest to annex Greenland and committed himself to the defense of Ukraine and the perpetuation of NATO, it would not matter. The free world now understands that its long-term security plans must be made with the understanding that America is a potential adversary, not an ally.

This realization may be painful for Americans. But we should know that the rest of the world understands us more clearly than we understand ourselves. …”

Yep. Even if Democrats manage to win back the Presidency and both Houses of Congress in 2028, the rest of the world still isn't going to trust us again or take our lead on anything for a long, long time. The reason being that they now know that Trump Republicans may just regain the WH in 2032 or 2036 and start this shit all over again, with Trump or someone else. Had Trump lost last year then the international damage from his first term would likely have gradually disappeared, and people would have taken it as a fluke. It wasn't, and so now all of our former allies are starting to plan moving forward without the USA in the lead anymore, and perhaps even planning to have the USA as an enemy or opponent. And most Trumpers have no clue as to how that will ultimately negatively affect their lives and especially those of their children.

We could regain trust with some new constitutional stuff to prevent Trump from ever happening.

You might be right super. But I just don’t see it happening. Trust is hard to get. It is easy to lose. And it is almost impossible to regain. We have lost our leadership status as the head of the West. And that POS Trump could care less. Our trump supporters, please show me where I am wrong. You voted for that stupid motherfucker and this is your fault. Hell, you were warned by over 40 people in his first administration that he was unfit. What the fuck else did you need? I hope you’re proud of the depths he has dragged our country into.

National Security Agency chief ousted after far-right activist urged his removal

Gen. Timothy Haugh, the director of the NSA, the powerful wiretapping and cyberespionage service, was fired Thursday, according to U.S. officials.

“The director of the powerful wiretapping and cyberespionage service, the National Security Agency, was fired Thursday, according to two current and one former U.S. officials.

Gen. Timothy Haugh, who also heads U.S. Cyber Command, was let go along with his civilian deputy at the NSA, Wendy Noble, according to the officials.

… Loomer told The Post that she urged Trump to dismiss Haugh because he was “handpicked” by Gen. Mark A. Milley, who was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2023 when Haugh was nominated to lead Cyber Command and the NSA.

… Haugh is a cyber professional with more than 30 years of military service, including as head of Cyber Command’s Cyber National Mission Force, which led offensive cyber military operations overseas, and as commander of the 16th Air Force in San Antonio.

… He ran Cyber Command’s half of the “Russia Small Group,” a joint effort with the NSA to defend the 2018 midterm elections from Russian interference. …”

"
Pick whichever rationale you want, because it doesn’t matter. Whatever the reason was, it exposed half of the electorate—the 77 million people who voted for Trump—as either fundamentally unserious, decadent, or weak.

And no empire can survive the degeneration of its people."

oooof.

“Harvard Medical School researcher Kseniia Petrova, on a J-1 visa, was arrested by CBP and transferred to an ICE detention center in Louisiana. The grounds are that this was due to an undeclared item at the airport, which her research adviser had requested, and for which, at most, a $500 fine is appropriate, as her lawyer has stated. …

Thus far, we are not aware of any charges that have been brought forth, and she is at risk of being deported. In 2022, she protested Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, after which she fled Russia. Therefore, if deported, she will most certainly be persecuted in Russia. …”

“She was initially given a choice after being stopped by CBP: return to France and reapply for a visa, or be deported and barred from entering the U.S. for five years. She opted to return to France, but when she told a CBP officer who questioned her that she feared political persecution if she returned to Russia, the agency decided to detain her instead, according to one of the petitions filed by her lawyer.”

Russian defectors and expats should fear traveling to or from the United States right now.

Social Security faces thousands more job cuts even with service in tailspin

The agency has already seen 7,000 job losses from dramatic cost-cutting efforts by Trump and Musk — even as they promise no benefit reduction

“… The cuts have been ordered by leaders of Elon Musk’s cost-cutting team, the U.S. DOGE Service, which reviewed the agency’s plans to shrink its workforce last week, according to four agency officials familiar with the conversations, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the plans. DOGE determined that the 7,000 jobs eliminated since February under acting commissioner Leland Dudek through early retirements, buyouts, resignations and firings were not enough, the officials said.

The DOGE team, which has amassed unprecedented power throughout the federal government, has demanded significantly deeper cuts to ensure that Social Security meets President Donald Trump’s goal to shrink federal agencies, officials said.

… On Thursday, Social Security employees received an offer from the human resources department for voluntary reassignments to “mission-critical” front-line roles answering phones in call centers, processing claims in field offices and hearing offices, performing quality assurance checks on whether disability claims were properly reviewed and other functions.

“This voluntary reassignment option is a critical opportunity to shape how we deliver essential services and to proactively manage your own career path during this period of organizational change,” read the email, which was obtained by The Washington Post.

It was interpreted by many as a warning that declining a transfer could result in a layoff. The email called the offer a “final opportunity … before we make further organizational changes.” …”

I'm glad to see Trump taking advice on the National Security Council from a respected security expert, Laura Loomer.

Her face radiates intelligence, does it not?
